It was wonderful seeing all the familiar faces and exciting to see all the new faces! We are so thankful to all the families who chose AES for their student! We are more than excited for a wonderful school year ahead! 📚✨

We are so fortunate to have our own therapy dog at Amana Elementary! Tauren is a wonderful addition to our school! Thank you to her handlers Mrs and Dr B-K and Calista for working with Tauren!

🐾 Meet the CCA Therapy Dog Team! 💙

We’re excited to welcome a new member to our therapy dog team! Bunny has joined the team at the high school, where she works alongside High School Lead Counselor Megan Carlo to provide comfort, connection, and a little extra support throughout the school day.

Bunny joins our other wonderful therapy dogs, Sully, with handler Lindsey Shaull at Clear Creek Elementary and Tauren, with handlers Karen and Tom Boston-Kemple and Calista Schwan at Amana Elementary.

These special dogs play an important role in helping our students and staff feel supported, connected, and ready to learn. We’re so grateful for the people who make this program possible and our community for supporting these initiatives through donations—and for the wagging tails and unconditional love they bring to our schools! 🐾❤️

Our school secretaries truly are the heart of our schools—and they’re ready to welcome our students and families back for another great year!

From answering questions and keeping things organized to helping students, supporting staff, and making families feel welcome, our secretaries do so much behind the scenes and with a whole lot of heart. They are often the first friendly face you see when you walk through our doors, and we’re so grateful for the care and dedication they bring to our schools every day.

Here’s to a wonderful 2026–27 school year!

Some great advice as SCHOOL STARTS IN A WEEK! 📙

Here are a few simple things you can do now to help your child get ready for a smooth start:

⏰ Start waking up earlier and getting back to your school-year schedule.

🛏️ Move bedtime earlier so everyone is ready for those early mornings.

👕 Practice getting ready independently — getting dressed, brushing teeth, putting on shoes, etc.

🎒 Get backpacks and school supplies ready so there’s less to worry about on the first day.

🍎 Practice opening snack and lunch items independently. Have your child practice with the containers, packages, and water bottles they’ll be using at school.

📚 Read together to get those brains ready for learning!

💬 Talk about school and help your child focus on the fun things they have to look forward to.

Amana teachers are making preparations to have students back in the building and can’t wait to see those faces come Monday!! 💙🤍
