Honoring the Wild Mustangs & Burros
They carried explorers, pioneers, and settlers across an untamed land.
They helped establish homesteads, plowed fields that fed growing communities, and traveled countless miles beside those building a new nation.
They carried riders along the Pony Express, served with courage in times of war, and stood faithfully beside ranchers, cowboys, lawmen, and Native peoples throughout the American West.
The wild burros, with their unmatched endurance and sure-footed strength, became indispensable partners in the mines, hauling supplies through rugged country where few others could travel.
Together, these remarkable animals helped shape the American frontier—not through words, but through unwavering strength, resilience, and service.
Today, as we celebrate 250 years of freedom, we honor the enduring legacy of America’s Wild Mustangs and Burros.
May we never forget the spirit they represent—
