Hey Owls….please help get the word out to your family or friends that need to enroll a new student for the upcoming year.
If they need help or assistance uploading or completing the online application they can attend one of the following Thursday evening’s that works for your family!
June 11, 18, 25 or July 2 4-6 pm
Lewis Lane Center (7400 Lewis Lane, Manvel, TX)

They will also have MyCHN on site June 18 & 25 providing immunizations!!

Operation Backpack 2026 – Voucher Pick-Up Begins NOW!!!🎉🎉🎉

Do you need school supplies for the upcoming school year? Families can begin picking up Operation Backpack vouchers this week at any Alvin ISD campus front office.

📅 Voucher Pick-Up Dates:
✅ June 8 – June 11
✅ June 29 – July 2
✅ July 6 – July 9
✅ July 13 – July 16
Please note: Vouchers will not be distributed after July 16.

How It Works:

1. Visit any Alvin ISD campus during one of the voucher distribution weeks listed above.

2. Request an Operation Backpack School Supplies Voucher from the front office.

3. If you have more than one child, you must obtain one voucher per child. (You may pick up all vouchers at one campus.)

4. Bring your voucher(s) to your child’s school during the week of July 27 to receive a backpack and school supplies. Each campus will communicate its specific distribution date and time.

Operation Backpack helps ensure Alvin ISD students start the school year prepared and ready to learn. Thank you to our community partners who help make this program possible each year!

If you are wanting your 4yr old to attend Pre-K starting in this fall, please fill out the application on alvinisd.net/prek and make an appointment this week to get them registered!! It’s quick & easy!!

If your student is going to be 4 on or before September 1st, 2026…follow the QR to see if you qualify for Pre-Kindergarten in Alvin ISD! Apply Now & then set up your appointment to complete the registration June 1-11!

As this year comes to a close, we celebrate Mrs. Spillars and her amazing career as a 5th grade teacher at Nelson Elementary. While we are excited for her retirement, filled with hobbies and family time, our hearts are a little sad knowing she won't be returning next year. Congratulations, Mrs. Spillars—you have made a lasting difference, and you will be greatly missed! 💙🦉💙

Need breakfast or lunch for your Nelson student during summer? The times and details are listed below. The Alvin Elementary location is the closest location for our Nelson zone. With Alvin Rec Center near ACC, also a close 2nd location.

We are so proud of these 5th grade boys who won our cover contest earlier this year! It was so fun seeing their proud faces as they held their yearbooks on the last day of school.
