🌿☀️ Little learners NEED to move!

Running, exploring, playing, and getting a little dirty isn’t time away from learning—it’s part of it! 🐐🌱

At Acton Academy Alva, we know that fresh air and movement help learners recharge, regulate, and return to their work ready to focus. 🧠✨

Because sometimes the best way to help kids concentrate is to let them be kids first! 💚

Move their bodies. Feed their curiosity. Watch them grow! 🌳

Learning first hand about goats and goat showmanship. Learners led two different goats - one a show goat and the other a pet goat due to a birth defect. The saw and felt the difference. This is what happens when one does not know work with the goats. You get a very difficult and misbehaved goat during a show. If you put in the time and effort you get a goat that is well behaved and helps you in the ring.

🐐🐴 Learning doesn’t always happen at a desk!

Our Journey learners got hands-on with one of the many important parts of caring for animals. 🐾

Ms. Jessica taught them about the difference between IM (intramuscular) and SubQ (subcutaneous) injections and why understanding proper animal care matters when you’re responsible for another living creature. 💉🐐

At Acton Academy Alva, we believe real learning happens when you have a reason to learn it. ❤️

Farm life = science + responsibility + problem-solving + a whole lot of curiosity! 🌱🐴🐐

Did you know that we practice Socratic discussion everyday? Today one of our Journey learners led a discussion during lunch with the Spark heroes. Our learners help each other grow! These moments are so powerful.

When at Acton Academy Alva you may be greeted by Phoenix and Rocco. We love them so much! Rocco is a wild mustang from Wyoming and Phoenix is a paso fino born here on the property two years ago. Totally different types of horses but both kind and handsome!
