The 78th Annual Modoc County Junior Livestock Show & Sale is almost here! Join us June 15–19 as we celebrate the dedication, hard work, and determination of Modoc County’s youth.

Monday & Tuesday (June 15–16)

▪️ Poultry & Rabbit Show on Tuesday

Wednesday (June 17)
▪️P*e Wee Showmanship – 10:00 AM
▪️Market Animal Weigh-Ins begin at 2:30 PM

Thursday (June 18)
▪️Market & Breeding Shows for:
• Swine
• Beef
• Sheep
• Goats

🍔 Drive-Thru BBQ
Hosted by Modoc 4-H Shooting Sports
5:00–7:00 PM

Friday (June 19)
▪️Showmanship Competitions
▪️Round Robin Showmanship - 12:00 PM

Followed by

Do you have a 5 - 8 year old that loves animals? Sign the up for P*e Wee Showmanship at the Modoc Junior Livestock Show. No need to be signed up for 4-H but must live in Modoc County.
Animals that can be shown are: dogs, cats, rats, mice, poultry, rabbits, cavies, and pygmy goats. Contact Cheryl at (530)233-6400 or stop by the 4-H Office, 202 W 4th Street, Alturas to sign your child up.
P*e Wees will show June 17th, starting at 10am. Hope to hear from you.

Do you have a child ages 5–8 who would love the chance to be part of the Junior Livestock Show?

There’s still time to enter P*e Wee Showmanship at the 78th Annual Modoc County Junior Livestock Show! Entries will remain open until Wednesday, June 10th at 5:00 p.m.

P*e Wee Showmanship is open to boys and girls ages 5–8 (age as of December 31, 2025) who live in an area served by a Modoc County 4-H Club. Participants do not need to be enrolled in 4-H to enter.

Children may show:
🐐 Pygmy Goats
🐶 Dogs
🐱 Cats
🐭 Rats, Mice & Cavies
🐔 Poultry
🐰 Rabbits

Animals must be trained by the exhibitor and may not be entered in any other Junior Livestock Show division.

P*e Wee Showmanship will take place on Wednesday, June 17th at 10:00 a.m. in the Sale Barn.

If you have a little one who’s been wanting to get involved, this is a great opportunity to build confidence, learn responsibility, and have some fun in the ring!

This year, exhibitors may choose STRAW bedding. Just write “straw” in the bedding preference section of your entry form.

Reminder: if no bedding preference is listed on the entry form, bedding will not be provided.
