Earlier this week, our AASD Officers and Security personnel had the valuable opportunity to participate in hands-on, simulated training at the Pennsylvania School Safety Institute.

Realistic scenarios like those presented allow our team to sharpen their skills, enhance response strategies, and ensure our schools remain safe environments for learning.

Orientation briefings begin every 30 minutes beginning at 8:00 AM
Self-Guided tours following the briefing to locate your classroom and become familiar with the school.

Students, teachers and administration enjoyed a special visit from Deputy Secretary Amy Lena, from the Pennsylvania Department of Education. Deputy Secretary Lena visited Day 2 of ABC Camp at Pleasant Valley Elementary School to see first hand how Governor Shapiro's investment and support of public education through adequacy funding is making a difference!

It was a great visit!

AAJHS Girls Volleyball Tryouts

The Horseshoe yearbook editors were busy this month traveling to San Diego for a National Yearbook workshop to "capture the moment' and get a jump start on the 2027 book.

Editors took part in photography, writing, design, and leadership workshops and breakouts. Mikayla Patterson and Neveah Himes placed in some competitive events as well. Editor in chief Gianna Huber led a presentation to share their work. Riley Winters, Adrielle McNeal, and Isabella Foor attended as well.

Adviser Wanda Vanish also attended the Journalism Adviser University the prior week.
