The publication students are proud to announce two recent accolades.
First the Mountain Echo newspaper received an International First Place award from the Quill and Scroll Honor Society. The online newspaper received an "Excellent" rating for General Practices, a "Superior" rating for Coverage, an "Excellent" rating for Writing and Editing, an "Excellent" rating for Visuals, and a "Superior" rating for Social Media. The judges said the Mountain Echo displays a high level of digital sophistication, seamlessly using their online platform to deliver a dynamic news experience that far exceeds standard print limitations. By combining prompt news delivery with multimedia storytelling techniques, the staff demonstrates an excellent understanding of modern scholastic digital journalism.
The Horseshoe yearbook received a Silver rating from the Pennsylvania School Press Association. The judge said, "I can tell by reading your book that the staff has worked hard to capture the events of your school and community to accurately showcase your school. I am sure your student body appreciated the time you put into creating a quality book for them."
