Just checking in...Gosh, I am so sorry that it has been such a long time since I last posted here...I had sincerely hoped to have a regular "info / sharing / feed" up and running. However, during the last few months, I have been focused on trying to find Classmates through other social media sources. That being said, I will be leaving my post as Administrator of this page, as well as all of the other tasks that I had initially taken on. I will certainly inform you if this page will continue for you (or cease), to be a valuable information source for the upcoming Reunion. When and/or if this page changes hands, you will be the first to know. Wishing all of you a great AAHS 40th Class Reunion in August.

In the past 20 (or so) days, we've lost two classmates. Gary D. Leighty and Anthony J. Policichio. Too young, Too soon.

RU Registered with the AAHS Alumni Association? Might be a good time to do so.

Dear Alumni:
Happy Holidays
As 2014 quickly approaches we want to take this opportunity to wish all of our AAHS Alumni and friends Season's Greetings and Happy Holidays. In 2013 many of our alumni have taken the opportunity to rekindle friendships and make new ones by attending one of the ten class reunions held this past summer and fall; attending Alumni Band 2013; or traveling to New York City on our annual excursion. We've enjoyed seeing all of you!

As an Association we were able to provide support and assistance to Altoona Area students through the following ways:

A $1000 scholarship was awarded to ten graduates of the Class of 2013 for a total of $10,000!
A $500 contribution was made to the Student Assistance Intervention Team's (SAIT) annual Christmas outreach supporting AASD families.
AASD Foundation Teacher Grant Partner - supporting AASD teachers and students through the Teacher Grant and Educator-in-Residence Grant programs.

We also pause for a moment to remember those Alumni who are no longer with us and extend heartfelt sympathies to friends and family left behind.

May you and your family have a very blessed Happy New Year.

Ladies, dear ladies...would you be so kind...To place your maiden name on your FB profile???

It's easy to change if you so choose, go to account settings and add it. Here's a print screen (I call it screen dump) of what to do, just click the 'edit' link by your name. Please don't get me wrong...I'm sure you know your way around a computer...just trying to be helpful. Sometimes that gets me into deep crrap, when I’d much rather be in DEEP SNOW! Have a great weekend, a Merry Christmas and Spectacular New Year!!! Julie Muscatelli-Reijns

Dear Alumni:
ALTOONA ASD .... There's an App for That!
It's official! Parents, students, staff and the community can stay informed and up-to-date on important issues, information, and activities underway within the school community. The Altoona ASD app is a free app, which proudly displays the Mountain Lion logo in Altoona Maroon and White, and is available for both iOS and Android. It can be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play by searching Altoona ASD.

The development and introduction of the official mobile app empowers not only our parents and students but everyone in our community to stay connected and up-to-date on the information they want most at any time of the day on their mobile device.

Developed in partnership with SchoolMessenger, families will now have 24/7/365 access to calendars, menus, directories, events, sports schedules and scores, maps and more. The app will also give access to the AAHS Alumni Association and AASD Foundation web pages as well.

So what are waiting for? Download the app today!
