One great tool isn't enough. I watched a 17U player hit an absolute bomb with a wood bat. The swing was special.
But then I watched him run—and it reminded me how important it is to develop the whole player.
What if he had started taking his physical development, training, and nutrition seriously at 12 or 13?
Young players, don't wait until you're 17 to start becoming the player you want to be. Build the habits now. You never know when your opportunity is coming.

“My son can’t hit slow pitching.” Here’s my answer: Hitters hit. Great hitters don't only hit the velocity they like. They adjust. Fast. Slow. High. Low.
If you're getting out in front against a slower pitcher, that's not a reason to quit competing. It's a reason to make an adjustment.
Don't let “I can't hit slow pitching” become an excuse. Learn to hit. That's what hitters do.

If you see me at a baseball event, come say hello! ⚾ I had a really nice conversation today with a mom who came over and introduced herself after watching my content.
That's one of the things I love about being out at these events—we're all in this together. I enjoy talking with parents, players, and coaches, hearing your stories, and talking about baseball.
So if you see me this summer, don't be shy. I'm very approachable. Come say hi!
And if you're enjoying the content, I'd love to hear it. If you're not enjoying it, you can tell me that too. 😂
Maybe I'll see you at a tournament soon!

Parents of young baseball players, this is important.
If your son wants to play college baseball, don't wait until he's 16 or 17 to prepare him for recruiting.
I'm watching the 17U WWBA in Atlanta, where hundreds of college coaches are evaluating players. Think of it as a job interview.
The problem? Too many young players spend years focused only on winning games and tournaments, without learning what they need to become the type of player a college coach wants.
Preparation starts much earlier.
At 10, 11, or 12, there are things you can be teaching, developing, and improving long before that recruiting opportunity arrives.
Don't wait until the interview to start preparing for the job.

Parents, college coaches aren't just looking for "good players."
They're looking for players who can help them win. At the WWBA, hundreds of coaches are watching. Their job is to identify players they can confidently take back to their head coach and say, "This kid can help us."
That's why they're selective. So don't just ask, "Is my son good enough?"
Ask: "What does he bring to a college team?"
That shift in perspective can completely change how you approach recruiting.

Want to stand out? Do what most players won't.
You hit a line drive. The shortstop catches it immediately.
Most players take a few steps and walk back to the dugout.
I say RUN.
There may be a college coach or pro scout watching who wants to see your home-to-first time.
Give him the opportunity.
It's a small thing. But that's the point.
The finer details are often what separate you from everyone else.

Travel baseball should develop baseball players. Too often, it isn't.
I'm at the 17U WWBA watching players who have been in this game since they were six years old—and too many still struggle with basic fundamentals.
Getting a lead. Bunting. Tagging up. Cutoffs. Pickoff moves.
I'm not blaming the kids. Adults have a responsibility to teach them how to play the game the right way.
That's a big reason we started Ambassadors Baseball. We want to build a program around development, respect, gratitude, and actually teaching the game—not just putting players in uniforms and collecting tournament fees.
There are good travel programs doing it right. But as a whole, we can do better for these kids.
Parents and coaches: Are we developing complete baseball players—or just giving them more games?
