Our annual Holiday Hoof Print Paint Night with Jess's Art Burrow is coming back, and we can't wait to share this special evening with you!

This year's painting will feature an adorable holiday donkey—perfect to display in your home or give as a heartfelt gift. 🎨🫏

But this night is about more than just painting.

As part of the experience, you'll enjoy a guided walk through Stable Stay Horse Hotel & AirBnB, meet our horses, and get a glimpse into what Stable Choice is all about. Sometimes the best lessons are the ones we model.

With tomorrow’s Extreme Heat Advisory, we’ve decided to cancel our Girls Personal Growth Experience with Horses.

While we hate changing plans, one of the biggest life skills we teach is empathy— learning to recognize when someone else needs us to put their well-being before our own plans.

That includes our horses. They already live out in this heat 24/7, and asking them to work and expend extra energy in these temperatures wouldn’t be fair. Part of being good horse stewards is knowing when they need us to make the decisions for their wellbeing.

The horses spend every session teaching us. Tomorrow, they’re teaching us one more lesson: sometimes caring for others means putting their needs before our own.

Thank you for understanding. We’ll be in touch with our families about the possibility of a makeup session. Stay hydrated and stay cool! 🧊

Yesterday’s session focused on communication, and it was amazing to watch the girls discover that effective communication isn’t just about speaking louder or finding the right words. It’s about being aware of ourselves, listening, and learning how our actions impact those around us.

The best part? These lessons don’t stay with the horses. They carry over into friendships, families, school, work, and everyday life.

Sometimes the most powerful communication lessons come from a 1,200-pound teacher that never says a word. ❤️🐴

At first glance, it may simply look like a group of girls spending time with a horse.

But there's so much more happening.

In the first photo, the girls are gathered around a station card, working together to figure out the challenge ahead. Before they ever begin, they have to read, discuss, listen to each other's ideas, and create a plan as a team.

In the second photo, you can see the laughter as they jump into action. Not every plan works perfectly the first time—and that's where some of the best learning happens! Through each activity, the girls practice communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and adaptability while building confidence in themselves and their abilities.

One of our favorite things about this program is that the girls are learning important life skills without feeling like they're being taught. They're engaged, having fun, making friends, and discovering just how capable they really are.

And yes... there is usually plenty of laughter along the way. ❤️🐴

You might be surprised at what a group of people can learn just by working with a horse.

In the first photo, you’ll see three girls carefully guiding their horse across ground rails. It looks simple, but it takes real teamwork. They have to talk to each other, pay attention to the horse, and stay aware of where they’re going together. It’s all about learning how to move forward as a team and what that means that have to do as individuals.

In the second photo, one of those “you had to be there” moments happens — the girls are trying to get the horse to step on a glove. When it finally happens, the reaction says it all. It took patience, clear communication between partners, and learning how their energy affects the outcome. They had to slow down, refocus, and really work together to make it happen.

These kinds of activities are how we teach skills like communication, confidence, problem-solving, and leadership — without it ever feeling like a classroom.

It’s hands-on, real, and honestly… pretty unforgettable to watch them figure it out.
