Safety Squat Bar(SSB)‼️

The SSB is an awesome piece of equipment that helps us apply various stimuli, cater to an athletes needs, and increases program variety and comes with numerous benefits⬇️

✅ Using a Hatfield squat variation we can load a greater external force while maintaining a safe training position. Greater resistance = increased force output

✅The bar naturally challenges the upper back and trunk to maintain proper position throughout the squat..

✅Can be a great alternative when an injury is present

✅Changing the bar position and loading pattern can help prevent training stagnation and expose athletes to different movement demands.

The safety squat bar is a valuable tool for developing lower-body and trunk strength while providing a comfortable alternative to the traditional back squat and applying a different stimulus to athletes that can complement their overall strength and performance program.💪🔥

Why is it important to always give you best effort rather than just going through the motions?

Being intentional in your training and always giving high quality effort leads to…

✅Maximizing training adaptations for strength, speed, and power

✅Reinforcing good technique and movement patterns

✅Building mental toughness and prepares your mind and body to perform at a high level

Just showing up and going through the motions during your training sessions can limit your benefits you get and is a waste of time

Training is only as effective as the effort you put into it. Show up with purpose, attack each movement, and make every rep, sprint, jump, and drill count‼️💪

“You can work really hard, but if you’re not training in the right way you’re not going to improve and get to the level that you want to.”

- Michael Chang

Reaching your goals takes more than just working hard, it takes intentional and specific training that focuses on developing strength, speed, and power, and emphasizes preparing you to perform at your highest level🔥💪🤝‼️

Oftentimes I think strength and conditioning gets lumped into a category of random stimulus that someone did “back in there day”
And since they were “relatively” successful, they believe it must’ve been the random exercises or conditioning that helped them be successful.

I’ve seen athletes be successful despite bad training but, I think it often gets confused as to why the athlete is successful.

If you go to a gym, or you go to do conditioning and just randomly apply a training stimulus with no sort of process or understanding of what the stimulus is providing, how much to do, and what we are actually getting out of it.

YOU’RE WASTING YOUR TIME.

To improve force, the rate at which you create force, get faster, be quicker, more powerful, there has to be a systematic approach to what stimulus, how much, and consistently do it with high intent to see any sort of progress.

You might still be relatively successful at your sport, but it wasn’t because of your random training stimulus that made you tired and sore.

“Any idiot can make another idiot tired”
-Yuri Verkhoshansky

Routines are important

With school and fall sports taking up time, it’s even more important to find a routine that allows you to still train

Training In-Season helps keep us on the field/court and performing at our best💯

It doesn’t have to be a lot, it can be 1-2 times a week, those times are important in helping continue to improve and get closer to reaching your goals🔥‼️

Core training🤝‼️

Core training is important for athletes because the core serves as a link between the upper and lower body. A strong, well-trained core helps athletes control force efficiently during athletic movements and helps⬇️

✅Improves stability

✅Increases force production and transfer

✅Improves balance and coordination

✅Improves deceleration and control

Core training should be viewed as more than simply developing abdominal strength. It helps athletes create a stable and efficient foundation for producing and controlling force, ultimately supporting performance across a wide range of athletic movements.💪🔥
