Students and Parents! The Community Foundation of the Ozarks’ scholarship application season opened on January 1, 2026.

We highly encourage students and parents to use the Scholarship Criteria Preview page. This searchable resource allows users to look up scholarships by school name, city, and other criteria, and provides current information on award amounts, eligibility requirements, and any updates or changes.

2025 Teacher Grants: Now Open

Applications for the 2025 Harry Cooper Grants are now open. Teachers should receive an application in their school mailbox. However, an application can also be downloaded via the AltonPSF.com/resources/ page.

Applications are to be returned to Mrs. Little by December 10, 2025.

2025 Walnut Festival Cruise-In!

As part of the 40th Annual Black Gold Walnut Festival, the Alton Public School Foundation will be hosting a Cruise-In on the court square in Alton, MO. The Cruise-In will start at 5pm, Friday, October 3, 2025. There will be live music, the annual 5k Run for the Gold, and plenty of food. So whether you're a car enthusiast, a runner, a foodie, or just looking for a great night out, there's something for everyone on the square.

Entry is free, but donations to the Alton Public School Foundation are encouraged and appreciated! Donations go towards scholarships and school projects.

Students: Scholarship deadline is March 16

Attention Alton High School Seniors! If you are planning on attending college or trade school, please note that the scholarship deadline is March 16. There are still a large number of AHS students with incomplete scholarship applications! If you need help, or have questions, please reach out to either Mrs. Gilliland or Mrs. Ledgerwood in the High School Counselor’s Office.

Attention Alton High School Seniors! The Community Foundation of the Ozarks scholarship application season opened on January 1, 2025. All AHS Seniors are eligible to complete the Universal Application to see if they qualify for any of the CFO-administered scholarships. CFO Scholarship Applications Opening Soon

Applications for scholarships administered by the Community Foundation of the Ozarks, including the Ozarks Teacher Corps Scholarship, will open on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025. The CFO administers about 500 scholarship funds that provide about $1.7 million in scholarships every year for students from central and southern Missouri seeking higher education.

2024 Teacher Grants: Now Open

The APSF is now accepting applications for the "Alton Public Schools Foundation/Harry Cooper Supply" Teacher Grants. This grant is open to both Elementary and High School teachers in the Alton R-IV School system.

Teachers should have received an application in their school mailbox, but the application can also be downloaded from the Alton PSF site under the "Resources" link.

Applications are to be returned to Mrs. Little in the high school library by November 12, 2024.

ED says 2025–26 FAFSA Form “Coming Soon”

After significant issues with the 2024–25 FAFSA application related to the complete overhaul of the application software itself, the Department of Education has set a date of Dec. 1, 2024, for the public release of the 2025-26 FAFSA form. If you're an AHS Senior who will be pursuing college or trade school, and you will be seeking Financial Aid (Grants or Loans) from the government, it is imperative that you complete the FAFSA as soon as possible. More information is available at https://studentaid.gov, but please contact your school counselor if you have additional questions.
