Alton Bank, in partnership with the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines, announces that Koshkonong Volunteer Fire Department received a $10,000.00 grant through the Member Impact Fund. This matching grant program is designed to amplify the community engagement of FHLB Des Moines member institutions that support local housing, business and economic needs.
Grant funds awarded to the Koshkonong Volunteer Fire Department will be used to purchase new emergency radios, maintain firefighting vehicles, acquire updated firefighting equipment, and complete necessary building maintenance. These improvements will strengthen emergency communication, enhance firefighter safety, improve response reliability, and ensure the department can continue providing effective emergency services to residents throughout Koshkonong and the surrounding rural communities.

🌟 STAFF SPOTLIGHT — ANDREW & SHERIDAN 🌟

Some of the best employees are the ones who quietly come in, do their job well, take care of people, and never ask for any recognition.

That pretty much describes Andrew and Sheridan. ❤️

This hard working duo first joined our Shepherd’s View family in 2023, and we were fortunate enough to welcome them back again in 2025. They work together on our night shift, so we don’t always see a lot of them—and if you know these two, that probably suits them just fine! They are both pretty low-key and would much rather stay behind the scenes than be in the spotlight. 😊

But good employees deserve to be recognized.

Outside of work, Andrew and Sheridan love being outdoors. Give them a river, fishing poles, a campsite or a new place to hike and explore, and they’re happy. They also love bowling and trips to Silver Dollar City for the roller coasters—and, of course, the food! Andrew is our video gamer, while Sheridan loves doing hair and attended cosmetology school to earn her license. She is also currently continuing her education in college.

There is something pretty special about a young couple who can live together, play together AND work night shift together! 😂❤️

Andrew and Sheridan may not make a lot of noise or seek attention, but they are dependable, good employees who simply come in and do what needs to be done. We appreciate that more than they probably realize.

We’re awfully glad these two found their way back to Shepherd’s View. ❤️

🌟 EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT — MEET TONYA! 🌟

For almost 14 years, Tonya Cavitt has been part of the Shepherds View family — and what a journey those years have been!

Tonya first came to us as a night-shift caregiver. While working and caring for our residents, she decided to further her education, went to LPN school, earned her nursing license, and today serves as our Director of Nursing. We couldn’t be prouder of how far she has come. ❤️

If you know Tonya, you know one thing for certain: she gets things DONE. 😂 She is focused, organized , loyal and has an expectation that all around her be of like mind. Around here, when Tonya has a job to do, you can count on it being done — and done right.

Her work ethic is impeccable, but underneath that no-nonsense exterior is someone who cares deeply about our residents and takes the responsibility of their care very seriously. After 13 years, she knows Shepherds View inside and out, and she has become an important part of who we are.

When asking what keeps her grounded in life she responds “ I have learned that you need to be content with yourself…before you can see the upcoming blessings that are coming your way …and you need to be happy with your own gratification …instead of seeking it from others! Realizing and learning these two life lessons has given me a new appreciation for Shepherds View, our staff and residence and life in general.” 

When she isn’t keeping all of us on our toes, Tonya loves being outdoors, spending time with her farm animals, getting out in her Jeep, and enjoying life with her husband, three grown children and grandchildren.

And as these pictures prove, she has a great sense of humor and she isn’t afraid to have a little fun either — whether there are puppies involved, a Supergirl costume is required, or winning a contest for Valentines boxes! She is creative and talented with crafts, sewing, painting and using her Cricit. She is our go to girl for creative ideas !😂❤️

Tonya, thank you for years of loyalty, hard work, growth and dedication to Shepherds View and the people who call it home.
