Today marked the official last day for our incredible Class of 2026. We are so grateful for the dedication, compassion, and memories you've shared throughout your residency journey.
We will miss each and every one of you, but we can't wait to see all that you'll accomplish in this next chapter. Congratulations, and best of luck you've made us incredibly proud! ❤️

To round out grad week spot we have Dr Abbas, aka procedure king! 🎉🎉
His favorite memory from residency was becoming a dad at the beginning of my third year. Balancing residency with fatherhood was one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of my life.
After residency, he will be heading back to Ontario, Canada, where I’ll be splitting my time between working as a hospitalist and practicing emergency medicine. I’m excited for the opportunity to continue caring for patients in both the inpatient and acute care settings.
We will miss you De Abbas, and we wish you the best in your future endeavors. ✨️✨️

Today we're celebrating a dynamic duo, Dr. Iskander and Dr. Ugabi! 🎉🎉
For Dr. Iskander, some of the most memorable parts of residency have been building lasting relationships with patients and their families, caring for obstetric patients, delivering babies, and sharing countless memories with fellow residents and faculty along the way. After graduation, he plans to spend some quality time with his dog Loula before beginning a career in outpatient primary care in Florissant, Missouri.

Dr. Ugabi says her favorite part of residency has been the incredible relationships she's built over the past three years. From her tiniest patients-many of whom she helped bring into the world-to her cherished older patients and everyone in between, she is grateful for the connections she has made. She also credits the amazing hospital and clinic staff who helped make even the most challenging days a little easier. Following graduation, she is looking forward to some well-deserved rest, traveling, and spending time with family before joining BJC Medical Group continuing to provide outpatient care right here in Alton.
Congratulations, Dr. Iskander and Dr. Ugabi! We are so proud of all you've accomplished and can't wait to see the impact you'll continue to make in the communities you serve. ✨

Next up on graduation spotlight we have Dr Durm formerly Dr Swain.🎉🎉
Her favorite memories during residency in addition to getting married are watching the eclipse from the helipad, going to the pregnancy care conference, and eating lunch outside with friends almost every day.
After residency she plans on exploring the glacier national park before moving to Denver Colorado where she will be doing outpatient primary care.
Congratulations Dr Durm, you will be missed!
