CALL FOR ABSTRACTS IS OPEN!

Have an idea, innovation, research project, or practice you want to share with the ASPE community? Now is the time to start shaping your submission.

And if the abstract process feels a little intimidating, or you want a clearer picture of what happens after you hit submit, join us for Unlocking the Abstract Process on Thursday, October 1 from 12:00–1:00 p.m. ET.

Kerensa Peterson, Nicholas Gonzales, and Amber Snyder will walk through the abstract submission and review process from start to finish, including key roles, how decisions are made, and updates to this year’s process.

Whether this is your first submission or you have presented at ASPE before, this session is designed to help you approach the process with greater clarity and confidence.

Day 4 of our Healthcare Simulation Week takeover series goes online! 💻🌍

Today we’re joining SP-ed, where a distributed community of 74 SPs across the United States connects with learners through online human simulation.

For their takeover, SPs themselves take the mic to share what this work looks and feels like from their side of the screen, including the differences between online and in-person simulation, the power of being in the homes, and what remains constant no matter the setting: connection with learners, thoughtful portrayal, feedback, and the human relationship at the center of the experience.

One of the things we’ve loved most about this week is seeing just how many forms an SP program can take. Human simulation happens in dedicated centers, classrooms, clinics, homes, and across hundreds of miles. The setting may change. The humans are still the heart of it. 💙

Day 3 of our Healthcare Simulation Week takeover series brings us to the University of Pennsylvania SP Program in Philadelphia! 💚🦅

Throughout the day, the UPenn team gave us a look at their program, their spaces, and the people who help bring human simulation to life for learners, two of whom have been named, "Educators of the Year"!

These takeovers are such a great reminder that SP programs are shaped by their own institutions, communities, learners, and teams. There is no single way that this work looks, and that is part of what makes it so valuable to see inside programs across the field.

Thank you to the UPenn SP Program for opening your doors to the ASPE community and sharing a piece of your work with us during Healthcare Simulation Week 2026.
