Every school deserves access to the knowledge and resources needed to support students living with type 1 diabetes.

Through Type 1 at School, Touched by Type 1 provides training for educators, administrators, school nurses, and support staff, helping schools better understand type 1 diabetes and create safer, more supportive learning environments for their students.

Virtual training is available for schools and districts outside our local area, making it easier to bring this important education to your school community—wherever you are.

Together, we can expand access to type 1 diabetes education and help ensure every student feels safe, supported, and empowered at school.

Twenty-six years ago, Dancing for Diabetes began with one young girl, one powerful vision, and a determination to make life better for people living with type 1 diabetes.

What started in Elizabeth Forrest’s childhood driveway has grown into sold-out performances, thousands of dancers and supporters, and a community reaching far beyond the stage.

Every year has added another chapter. Every performance has created more awareness, connection, and hope. And the story is still being written.

Swipe through the moments that brought us here, then join us for the 26th annual Dancing for Diabetes on Saturday, November 14, at Steinmetz Hall.

Tickets are on sale now at dancingfordiabetes.org.

A special night, new connections, and memories they’ll carry with them. 💜🎶

Our Touched by Type 1 kids and teens came together at the Kia Center to see the Jonas Brothers, sharing the excitement with others who understand life with type 1 diabetes. Moments like these give them time to connect, build friendships, and simply enjoy being kids together.

Thank you to the City of Orlando for generously donating two suites and making this experience possible, and to our chaperones and team for helping create a night they’ll remember!

You can be grateful for the people around you, the progress you've made, and the life you're building and still have days when type 1 diabetes feels hard.

Both things can be true.💙

Give yourself permission to feel what you feel, take things one day at a time, and remember that you don't have to navigate it all alone.

"I had to be my own type 1 diabetes advocate while also pushing out a baby."
Elizabeth Forrest went into both of her deliveries prepared.

There was a birth plan. Her diabetes management had been discussed. Her endocrinologist was involved. Her husband was beside her.

But having a plan and experiencing that plan inside a hospital aren't always the same thing.

In her latest Founder blog, Elizabeth shares what it was like navigating type 1 diabetes during labor and delivery, including hospital protocols, repeated questions, glucose monitoring and the mental load of advocating for her own care while trying to deliver a baby.

This isn't about blaming the people providing care. It's about asking how we can better support women with type 1 diabetes so preparation matters when they're at their most vulnerable.
