Altamont Elementary PTO Altamont Elementary School in Altamont, UT parent and teacher organization We are a K - 6th grade school located in Altamont, Utah. We are in Duchesne County.

Altamont is a rural community of about 250 people in the northeastern corner of Utah. We are at the foot of the Uinta Mountains, the only major mountain range in the US that runs east and west. Altamont has an elevation of about 6400 feet above sea level. We have cold winters and pleasant summers. Altamont is the center of a farming and ranching area that has population of about 2000.

Welcome Back to School. Our school theme this year is, "Learning is a Treasure" and we are sporting the pirate style. Thank you to "Tori's Bowtique" for putting up our darling photo backdrop. Feel free to bring your kids the first day of school and get their pictures in front of the backdrop. School starts Thursday, August 20th. Doors open at 7:40. Just a heads up...The buses will run at 1:00 on Friday. See your kiddos soon.
