A big shoutout to Community National Bank in Edna for inviting the LCHS choirs to entertain at their customer appreciation luncheon! The students had fun working on their pieces and it was a great experience. We have some absolutely amazing young people at LCHS. Thanks, CNB, for giving them a place to perform.

Huge congratulations to Megan Gabehart!

Megan has been named the Southeast Kansas District Outstanding Music Educator at the high school level. She serves as the band teacher at Labette County High School and Meadow View Grade School. She has led countless performances on the stage, in the stands, and on the field.

We are so grateful to have Megan on our team and are excited to see her recognized for all she does for our students!

Megan will now represent the Southeast Kansas District at the state level, where her nomination will compete for the state award.

A special thank you to Shawna Terrell for putting together Megan's nomination and for sharing these kind words about her:

"Megan's love for her students is at the forefront of everything she does. Watching her work with students has influenced my own teaching, and I feel she has made me a better instructor. I appreciate the passion she has for the art of teaching music and the love of music she instills in her students. The band program at LCHS is already growing under her direction, and that speaks volumes. Megan is so deserving of this incredible honor."

— Shawna Terrell, Music/Choir Teacher at LCHS and AGS
