It takes serious toughness to wake up early, put in the grueling hours, and care for show animals day in and day out. Raising livestock teaches lessons you can’t learn anywhere else, and these Grizzlies proved that at this year's Inter-State Fair and Rodeo in Coffeyville. We are beyond proud of how well they represented Labette County! 🐐🐄 🐖

Jaci Falkenstien of the Labette County FFA chapter in Altamont, Kansas, has been named a national finalist this year for the Goat Production Agricultural Proficiency Award. Only four FFA members nationwide are selected as national finalists in each agricultural proficiency award area.

Agricultural Proficiency Awards honor FFA members who, through supervised agricultural experiences (SAEs), have developed specialized skills that they can apply toward their future careers. Students compete in areas ranging from agricultural communications to wildlife management. Proficiency awards are also recognized at local and state levels and provide recognition to members exploring and becoming established in agricultural career pathways.

LCHS "Meet the Teacher" night is this Thursday at 5:30pm! Parents will follow their student's schedule; this will allow you to briefly meet with each teacher to understand their classroom expectations and receive a basic introduction to each of their courses.
