The Colorado County Sheriff's Office will be conducting ALERRT AAIR (Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training) at Columbus Junior High from Monday, July 27, through Thursday, July 30.

ALERRT AAIR (Advanced Active Incident Response) training provides law enforcement, fire, and EMS personnel with realistic, scenario-based training to enhance coordination and response during critical incidents.

Throughout the training, community members can expect to see a large presence of law enforcement vehicles, EMS units, and emergency personnel at Columbus Junior High. This is only a training exercise, and there is no threat to the public.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as our first responders continue to train and prepare to serve and protect the citizens of Colorado County.

🚨 Attention 6th grade students/parents:

We are excited to invite our incoming 6th grade students to Raider Camp on August 10 from 9:00–11:00 AM. This special time is designed to help students transition from elementary school to junior high by building relationships with classmates from different campuses, meeting staff members, learning about school expectations, and becoming familiar with the building.

Students will participate in fun activities, small-group conversations, a campus tour, and team-building experiences to help them feel more comfortable and confident before the first day of school. Our goal is for every student to leave Raider Camp knowing that they belong at Rice Junior High and that we are ready to support them as they begin their junior high journey.
