Summer Camp 2026: Our Journey Through South America 🌎
What an unforgettable ten weeks! Our rayuelines traveled the continent country by country — through art, music, food, and imagination.
We kicked things off in Mexico, decorating passports and suitcases, painting alebrijes, and making tortillas. In Colombia, we built a giant map, danced the Mapalé, and made cheese arepas. Peru brought jungle-to-coast exploration, potato planting, and a live author visit, Nadia Calamet, a folk dance artist, founder of “Afro Peruvian Experience. In Argentina, we crafted glacier sensory boxes and danced tango, while Puerto Rico taught us Salsa and Bomba and the story of El Coquí.
Chile took us from desert to Antarctica with sand boxes, Cueca dancing, and homemade Completos. In Venezuela, we recreated Angel Falls and danced the Joropo, and Ecuador introduced us to the Galápagos tortoises and the equator. Bolivia brought Lake Titicaca models and Andean flamingos, and we closed the summer in Cuba with mocktail mojitos, a coral reef mural, and Son Cubano dancing.
Thank you for sharing this incredible journey with us — from Mexico all the way to Cuba, our rayuelines explored a continent full of color, culture, and connection. 🎉💛
¡Hasta la próxima aventura!
