SRSU FFA Alumni & Supporters enhance the collegiate experience through leadership, service and engagement; in doing so, we strive to secure the promise of FFA and agricultural education by creating an environment where people and communities can develop their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success. The AGED 3310 (Applied Laboratory Management & Instruction {aka Santa's Workshop}) students have completed their wood design and construction projects. Each project required the use of at least three wood-working tools. These students were initially hesitant about using table saws, miter saws, jointers, drill presses and orbital sanders, but as you can see they have mastered the process with these projects. Well done ladies! Next project - Metals and welding.

2026 SRSU Cattle Drive - how it progressed. It was great to see our Rodeo athletes (and their Coach)! It was also heartening to see the support from students, faculty and staff within and beyond the Agriculture and Industry Department who turned out to support our Rodeo athletes and to keep this long-standing tradition an integral part of our SRSU heritage.

It was “Spa day” today at the SRSU sheep & goat barn. ANSC 1419 students learned to catch, flip, and calm ewes and nannies, then trim hooves. But, unfortunately, Dr. Boyd forgot to bring the glossy red SR nail polish; that would have made the entire lab experience even more fun!

The SRSU AGED 2304 (Introduction to Agricultural Education) class members were blessed with the opportunity to assist with the 2026 Big Bend District FFA Greenhand Day Conference held at the Turner Range Animal Sciences Center. Class members facilitated the traditional "hand painting" activity in which the FFA members dipped a hand in green paint, then placed their print on a poster for the FFA Chapter to take home and display. SR students also helped with several other aspects of the Conference. "A learning experience was had by all!"

It's getting close to that time of year...
Alumni - we would like to know how many times you participated in this iconic SRSU tradition, whether as a herder or a watcher.

AND, to all our new Lobo Pups, this is definitely a tradition you do not want to miss, so make your plans to be on the campus mall on Tuesday Sept. 22. Be warned - you are very likely to get your picture taken by some old guy carrying an old-school 35mm camera around his neck!
