work. In each grade, I cover all concepts they are required to learn in school. In addition to this, I lay a strong foundation for the next grade. Like my 5th grader would master 5th grade math and also have a very good understanding of the 6th grade math, covering 2-3 units even before moving to middle school. Homework is given every week and must be completed by the next class. If not, kids will stay longer to complete the work. Speed is crucial in kid’s success in middle and highschool. In Fun with Math kids are required to write more to work on their speed. For students who join in the middle of the school year, I fill in the gap before laying the foundation for the next grade math to make sure they never struggle in the future. To ensure good communication and ensure everyone is on the same page, I have What’sApp group with parents where I give them update after each class. If I have concern about a student I make time to reach out to the parent by calling or messaging them on the same day.
