A note from Gaby
I am so excited to continue my journey here at Desana Middle School as an Assistant Administrator. The past two years have been a true learning experience for me as DeSana's Student Support Coordinator. The relationships I have built with teachers, students, parents, and the administrative team have truly shaped me for this exciting opportunity! I look forward to continuing serving this amazing community we have built here at Desana. I am committed to promoting academic excellence through strategic problem-solving, relationship building, and school-wide systems that support student growth and teacher success.
I am honored to be a Dragon!

Let's give a huge shout-out to DeSana Art Teacher, Tyler Fairchild and DeSana Engineering teacher, Stuart Bailey, for their hard work and dedication in painting our storage unit in the parking lot. The mural was designed by Nishaan K., an 8th grader, and painted by our 8th grade advanced art students.

Please join us in welcoming Kristy Ortego to our amazing staff for the 2026 - 2027 school year!
My name is Kristy Ortego and Forsyth County has been home for my family since August of 2020. My husband and I have three kids who keep us busy and connected to our schools — our oldest is at Denmark High School, our middle child is currently at DeSana Middle School, and our youngest is at New Hope Elementary. Being involved in their schools has been a big part of my life, and something I truly enjoy. I’m excited to join DeSana for the 2026–2027 school year and look forward to contributing to a positive, welcoming environment for everyone.
