CHAT Toastmasters

Welcome fellow Chat Toastmasters, today will be my first day to post as your PR Director. My goal will be to promote our club via social media which will include Facebook, Instagram, and Threads. I hope that you will also take the time to post so prospective members will know what a vibrant group we are.

In addition to our weekly Zoom meetings, CHAT Toastmasters is also meeting at Uptown Cafe on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month. They are located at 9850 Nesbit Ferry Road in Alpharetta.

The Area G73 Ice Breaker event scheduled tomorrow from 5-7 PM has been cancelled and will be rescheduled at a later date.

We would like to thank everyone whom attended our Open House this afternoon. We all greatly enjoyed it. We look forward to seeing everyone whom attended again.

We meet every Tuesday at Noon. Please send us a message if you wish to receive the Zoom information. A special Zoom link was created just for our Open House.

In Toastmasters, you give 2 different types of speeches. One type of speech is a 1-2 minute extemporaneous speech where you have no time to prepare.

The other type of speech is where you prepare to talk for several minutes. This is the type of speech I will discuss today. You know the focus of your speech, for example proper body language, based on your curriculum. Furthermore, not everybody has the same curriculum. People are in Toastmasters for different reasons, hence having everybody follow the same curriculum would be ridiculous. Alternatively the Toastmasters website has a tool allowing you to decide the best route to go. You may view each route as a college major. Consequently one member of CHAT Toastmasters may be majoring in Presentation Mastery while another member majors in Strategic Relationships.

Toastmasters helps you prepare for public speaking; however, what is considered public speaking? It is speaking professionally. It can be speaking to a large crowd, or speaking to a singular person. Toastmasters helps you prepare for interviews as well as networking meetings. Furthermore, Toastmasters also helps you prepare for meetings with clients and customers.

Why should a person interested in joining Toastmasters join CHAT Toastmasters? There are a plethora of Clubs metro Atlanta, and theoretically you could join any Club in the world as we are stuck on Zoom. However, what makes CHAT Toastmasters stand out is our members.

Our members are all friendly are cordial. Our members will meet you outside of Club hours to assist you in reaching the peak in your speaking abilities.

Furthermore our members want you to become to best public speaker you can become, and try to help you reach your potential.

Our members do this by providing you with praise and laud you when we notice an improvement. Moreover, we additionally provide constructive criticism by letting you know errors you made and how you can improve.
