We have been busy during the bad weather that closed area schools. The students have been actively learning about the Book of Ruth. They were able to try food that would have been available to people in Ruth's time. The first thing the students noticed was that there weren't any utensils to eat their food with, so how were they going to eat? Yes, they washed their hands before eating. Some of the students didn't mind the strange food, while others didn't like it at all! The day proceeded with dressing up and doing chores as the people of that time period would have done. We finished up with watching an animated movie about Ruth, having hot chocolate, and popcorn! What an exciting day this was!

The Homeschool Students will perform Leo Tolstoy's play,
Where There is Love, There is God.

The students had their final dress rehearsal and by God's grace they will be able to wrap you into the story and understand ways we can serve God and be blessed for it.

After the performance, please stay and join us for potluck where there is plenty of tasty food and good fellowship.

On a side note: The Church had collected gently used clothing that was distributed and over 30 families were helped! Praise God!

Where has the time been going?

The Home School students play is coming together. They have been working really hard by memorizing their parts:

"Where There is Love, There is God" by Leo Tolstoy.

Mrs. Edmunds has tirelessly been directing and shopping for the play and has found all the right stuff from costumes to props. You're the best Mrs. Edmunds! Thank you. The class is now ready for a dress rehearsal!

Oh, on a side note: We found Jesus in Mr. Shultz!

The Alpena Berean Home School has been busy since we began school in September.

Mrs. Edmunds has been teaching the class about flowers and how they are made. Together, they have been charting the flower parts and then dissected their own flowers. The class germinated their own seeds, cared for them until they sprouted and became a plant and then took their plants home.

Mrs. Adams has been teaching Bible creation and learning new songs. We are currently creating our own melody to the books of the Bible while we learn their names! We are only in the Old Testament right now.

The students have also been charting their behavior, work completed and chores done. They receive stickers of stars, books and smiley faces which will be converted to money they can go to our store to make a purchase. The students will take turns being the clerk and help their peers to purchase an item(s).

Alpena Berean Christian School has a Christ centered, Bible based focus and curriculum. We are a parent inclusive school.

Our teaching staff are certified.

We hold classes Monday thru Thursday 8:30-4:00. Students need to bring their own snacks, and lunch.

We are accepting new student enrollment. We unable to provide special education services.
