Congratulations to Bill Shatrau, ACC Lumberjack of the Month for August 2026!

Over the summer, Bill has helped transform a former classroom into our improved food pantry, The Market at ACC. In addition to removing the chalkboard and all of the existing furniture, he painted the room, assembled the new furniture, helped determine the best layout for the space, and worked through the logistics of placing and installing the large commercial appliances. Not only did Bill accomplish this while working through his regular responsibilities and a summer filled with projects, he did it with a great attitude, regular communication, and a big smile on his face!

Bill's positive attitude and hard work embody the ACC spirit, and we are proud to recognize him as a valued employee! We can't wait to show off the new space in the next few weeks, and we couldn't have done it without his hard work.

Alpena Community College is excited to welcome Ryan Gillings as the new head baseball coach! Gillings brings Division I coaching experience from Arkansas-Pine Bluff, along with experience coaching in the Northwoods League with the Traverse City Pit Spitters.

A former standout player at Aquinas College, Gillings is ready to continue building on the strong foundation of ACC baseball. Welcome to the Lumberjack family, Coach Gillings!

Lumberjack Launchpad starts ONE WEEK from today!

August 27–30, we’re welcoming new students to ACC with four days of food, games, activities, campus exploration, and opportunities to connect with the Lumberjack community. Launchpad isn't just for students living on campus; all ACC students are welcome and encouraged to join in!

Come make some friends, explore campus, and get ready for your first semester at ACC. We’ll see you at Launchpad!

On Tuesday, members of the ACC volleyball team participated in a nutrition class led by certified nutritionist Jess Krawczak. After learning about nutrition and healthy choices, the team built their own salads before breaking into groups of three for a “Chopped”-style dessert competition.

The class was made possible through ACC’s Hunger Free Campus grant, which is helping us bring more nutrition education and healthy food resources to our students. Additional nutrition classes and workshops will be offered throughout the semester.

Thanks to Jess and our volleyball team for kicking things off with a fun afternoon.

We’re inducting several new members into the Lumberjack Legends Athletic Hall of Fame this fall and you’re invited!

Join us on Saturday, September 19, as we celebrate the 2026 class of Lumberjack Legends and recognize their contributions to ACC athletics.

Come help us celebrate some of the athletes, coaches, and teams who have been part of ACC’s athletic history over the years. We’d love to see you there!

26 teams. 18 holes. No rain. And thousands raised for ACC students. Thank you to everyone who participated, donated, and volunteered at the Robert Granum Scramble for Students this past Saturday. We can't wait to do it again in August 2027!
