Mission: It is the overall mission of the Alfred-Almond Central School District to prepare each individual to live successfully in a world of rapid change, and to grow from dependence to independence. Development of self-discipline and readiness to accept responsibility for one's actions are essential characteristics of that growth. Our school system will provide an equal opportunity for each Alfred-Almond student to be challenged to the fullest extent of his or her ability and to assure that all students will acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to enable them to become productive members of society. This mission is best accomplished when school personnel maintain high expectations for all students, create a positive school climate, ensure a safe and orderly school environment, monitor student progress on a frequent basis, and promote effective home-school communication. The school system shares the responsibility for accomplishing this mission with the family and community.

The Annual Mr. Donlon vs. Mr. Levey rivalry raced again, with Mr. Donlon winning by 0.080 of a second. He currently holds a 3-0 record. Check out the videos in the comments.

[06/04/19]   The Lady Eagles traveled to Fillmore last night to take on route 21 foe Andover in the Class D crossover game. Fresh off of their sectional title the Lady Eagles were loose and confident, and they carried that swagger onto the field with them. After Andover jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning, the rest of the game was all A-A as they went on to score 9 unanswered runs to run away with a 9-2 victory. The Lady Eagles grabbed the lead in the second inning when Celeste and Lindsey singled to set the table, while Logan and Renee knocked them in with a single apiece. A-A broke the game open in the fifth inning as they crossed the plate five times and never looked back. Lindsey walked to start the inning, followed by a bunt single from Logan. Renee then doubled in two runs, and scored when Olivia roped a single to centerfield. That set the table for Morgan as she sent a moon shot well over the left field fence for a two run homerun. A-A added two more runs in the fifth inning thanks to a walk by Sarah and base hits from Renee and Olivia. Ali dominated her Panther opponents as she limited them to just three hits and one earned run, while striking out 4 batters. The Lady Eagles are now 16-5 on the season and will travel to Jamestown high school Friday for a 4:30 game against section 6 champion Panama; where the winner will advance to the final four of the state tournament.

[06/03/19]   This past Friday evening Davon and the boys 3200 relay team of Ethan, Aquila, Logan and Ben took on Section V in the State qualifying meet held at Sodus HS. Neither disappointed as both finished in sixth place, two spots ahead of their seeds. Congratulations boys on finishing the season on a strong note.

[06/03/19]   On Friday night stepped onto the field looking to grab their second consecutive sectional championship. What transpired over the next two hours had the feel of an ESPN instant classic. The Lady Eagles showed some early game jitters as a couple Notre Dame hits and A-A miscues led to 3 quick runs in the first inning for the Fighting Irish. Notre Dame would tack on an additional run in the top of the third inning to take a 4-0 lead. The Lady Eagles were able to score their first run of the game in the bottom of the third inning when Lindsey doubled and Renee brought her in with a double to the left field fence. The Lady Eagles would enter the bottom of the sixth inning trailing 6-1. With only six outs left and clinging to their softball lives A-A started mounting their comeback. Renee led the inning off with a walk, followed by an Olivia single. Amy would then single to score Renee. Olivia and Amy eventually scored on passed balls and Sarah ripped a double to deep left to score Celeste and bring A-A to within one run. Sarah would then score from third on a passed ball in a violent collision with the Irish pitcher to tie the game at six. Notre Dame would score in the top of the seventh to take a one run lead; however the Lady Eagles still had a chance. With one out Renee singled and Olivia walked. Amy then was able to reach base to load the bases bringing Morgan to the plate. Morgan ripped a ground ball to the shortstop who got Olivia out at third allowing Renee to score the tying run; however the play was not over. The shortstop threw the ball over the pitcher's head and Amy alertly broke for third base. In an attempt to get Amy out at third base the Irish pitcher made a bad throw allowing Amy to pounce to her feet and scamper home with the winning run securing A-A's championship victory. The team is now 15-5 on the season and will play Andover today at 6:00 in Fillmore for the right to advance to the Western Regional game on Friday!

[06/03/19]   The BMBB team ended their season Friday night against the visiting Addison Knights. The Eagles were out to avenge an early season loss to the Knights and they came out with their best game of the season, taking them down 11-3. [05/31/19]   Last night the GVSB team advanced to their third straight sectional final by defeating #2 seeded CG Finney. Facing an early 2-0 deficit the Lady Eagles showed their maturity as they maintained their poise and focus, executing the game plan and putting pressure on the opponents defense. A-A would tie the score in the third inning as Luci and Sarah would score on a Logan single and an Renee sacrifice bunt. The Lady Eagles would seize control of the game in the fifth inning as they crossed the plate 4 times. With the bases loaded and facing a two strike count, Morgan blasted a double deep to right center field to clear the bases and give A-A a 6-2 lead. CG Finney would battle back with two runs to close the gap; however Olivia would end any additional threat with a highlight catch in deep right center field. A-A then put the game away with 5 runs in the top of the sixth inning and cruise to a 12-4 victory. The Lady Eagles ended the game in style as Sarah caught a line drive and threw to first for a double play to punch A-A's ticket to the championship game. Ali was again stellar as she fired 7 innings of 6 hit ball while striking out 8 batters. Offensively Renee had a double and a triple, while Sarah and Morgan each added doubles. Morgan drove in 4 runs, Renee drove in 3 runs, and Logan added 2 RBI's of her own.
