First day of classes at CCLS. As always, we begin the day with Matins. Today is the Feast of St. Bartholomew, as we remember his great confession, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!”
Classes are going well. We will add photos as we go through the day.

We’re excited to welcome Rev. Paul Mundinger as preacher for the Opening Vespers of Christ Community Lutheran School!

Pr. Mundinger and his wife, Kelli, are an important part of our Circuit and St. Matthew, serving as Vacancy Pastor before Pr. Ike Nicholson’s call while also serving as Circuit Visitor. He also saw firsthand the early planning of our Circuit School’s Board of Education.

We’re grateful to welcome him back as we begin the second year of CCLS and gather around God’s Word and prayer.

At Christ Community Lutheran School, uniforms help teach students that their lives, including how they dress, are lived before God and in service to their neighbor.

A uniform does not make a child more righteous before God; we are justified by grace alone through faith in Christ alone. Rather, as a matter of Christian freedom and good order, a common dress standard helps students practice humility, modesty, discipline, and regard for others.

It can reduce competition over clothing, strengthen a shared sense of belonging, and remind students that school is a place where they have been given a particular vocation: to learn faithfully, honor their teachers, serve their classmates, and receive God’s gifts with gratitude.

Research on school uniforms has found that uniform policies can contribute to improved attendance, reduced clothing-related distractions, and a more orderly classroom environment in which students are better prepared for instruction. Research using international PISA data, for example, found better measures of classroom discipline among students wearing uniforms, while a large U.S. study found improved attendance among secondary students after uniforms were adopted.
