Alma families, stop by the Parent Resource Center in the Alma Intermediate School Library during fall parent-teacher conferences! Explore free academic, mental health, internet safety, and community resources, plus a chance to win door prizes.

📅 October 15: 4–7 p.m.
📅 October 16: 8 a.m.–4 p.m.

On October 16, an AFMC representative will also be available to help with Medicaid applications, renewals, primary care provider assignments, and family resources. Medicaid assistance is open to all Alma students and families, regardless of campus!

🎃 AIS PTO is kicking off our Battle of the Boo Bags fundraiser — with all proceeds supporting the AIS PTO Playground Initiative.

🐾 Our four Airedale Houses — Dogwood, Willow, Cypress, and Oak — are going paw‑to‑paw in a schoolwide candy challenge! (Each student will be told their House by the end of the week!)
• How to help: Donate bags of candy to your child’s House and help fill their mascot’s trick‑or‑treat bag.
• How to win: The House with the heaviest candy total (by the pound) on October 28th will be crowned the Boo‑torious Champions and earn 20 House Points + bragging rights.

🍬 Purchase Boo Bags for Students & Staff
Treat your child, their classmates, or AIS staff to a festive Boo Bag filled with candy and spooky surprises!
• Price: $6 per Boo Bag
• Deadline: Available through October 27th
• Allergies: Allergy‑friendly Boo Bags available — just note the allergy on the order form.

Next week, we begin ATLAS Interim assessments at AIS. ATLAS interims are mini summative assessments designed by the state to mirror the end of year ATLAS test. Students will be tested on end of year skills and our teachers will use that data to determine pacing and track growth throughout the year. Why is our school participating?

Accurate Progress Benchmarks: They give us a clear, standardized measurement of where students stand relative to end-of-year grade-level expectations.

Familiarity and Confidence: By experiencing these mini summatives now, students build stamina and become comfortable with the test format well before our spring assessment.

Targeted Instructional Planning: The data helps our teachers pinpoint specific standard gaps early, allowing us to adjust curriculum pacing and target review where it matters most.

Below is our testing schedule for next week. We ask that you prioritize attendance during these times. Students who are absent will miss valuable class time to make up these assessments.
