Injury diary entry 01-2026

I had to reboot my mindset about working out due to developing tendinitis in my left foot and needing to take a break from running.

I’ve officially made it way past National Quitters Day with my new programming.

60 mins of movement (mostly strength training) x 6 days a week. Luckily, I do love to lift weights! 🏋️‍♂️

I miss my running buddies though! 😕 To all of you who have adapted and changed your workout routine when faced with injuries….I see you!

Dr. Christopher M. Palmer is a psychiatrist known for his work at McLean Hospital, where he serves as the Founder and Director of the Metabolic and Mental Health Program, and as the Director of the Department of Postgraduate and Continuing Education. He is also an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Palmer has gained recognition for his innovative approach to treating psychiatric disorders through the use of the medical ketogenic diet, particularly in patients with treatment-resistant conditions like mood and psychotic disorders. His work aims to bridge the gap between metabolic health and mental health, suggesting that many psychiatric symptoms could be manifestations of underlying metabolic disturbances in the brain.

His book, “Brain Energy: A Revolutionary Breakthrough in Understanding Mental Health—and Improving Treatment for Anxiety, Depression, OCD, PTSD, and More,” explores these ideas in depth, proposing a new framework for understanding and treating mental illnesses based on metabolic health.
