Math + ELA in Action! 📚➕✖️

Our 5th graders are building skills across the curriculum! In math, students are learning how to solve problems using the order of operations. 🔢🧮

In ELA, students are strengthening their grammar skills by using coordinating conjunctions to build stronger sentences. They are also diving into a new novel, Walk Two Moons, while thinking closely about how the author uses language to help readers visualize the story and bring the text to life. 📖✨

From solving equations to making mental pictures while reading, our 5th graders are putting their thinking skills to work! ❤️🖤

📚🎭 Inference in Action! 🎭📚

Ms. Haleigh Moore’s 4th grade class brought ELA to life with a fun game of Inferencing Charades! Students used clues from their classmates’ actions and expressions to make smart guesses about what was happening—just like good readers use clues from a text to make inferences! 🕵️‍♀️💡

Our RTI, EIP, ESOL, and Resource teachers recently came together to collaborate, analyze student needs, and strengthen our new approach to helping students fill gaps in reading. ❤️🖤
