When you think about child care, you probably think about 👩‍🏫 teachers, 🏫 classrooms, 🧸 toys, 📚 learning, and lots of little smiles. 😊🐑

But there is so much more that happens behind the scenes. 👀✨

At Allison Little Lambs, our weekly tuition helps us cover the most important part of our operation — our incredible staff. ❤️👩‍🏫

But as a nonprofit child care center, we also have the everyday costs of keeping our doors open and our center running. 🏡🐑

🌞🎉 Lions Room End-of-Summer Party! 🎉🌞

Today we celebrated the end of an amazing summer with one last big adventure at the Clarksville Park & Splash Pad! 💦☀️ We enjoyed lots of splashing, playing, sunshine, and of course, pizza at the park! 🍕 We can hardly believe summer is already coming to an end and our big kids are heading back to school on Tuesday! 📚✏️

While we are so excited to see our kiddos grow, learn, and take their next big steps, this time of year always brings a little tug at our hearts. We are especially humbled as some of our Lions “age out” and move on to their next adventure as BIG kids. 🥹❤️ What a blessing it is to watch them grow from little ones into confident, kind, amazing kids. We are so thankful for every summer memory and every little moment we get to share with them at Allison Little Lambs Childcare Center. Here’s to a wonderful school year ahead! 🦁💛

Our Lions had the BEST time at the ISU Extension Office here in Allison today for our final summer program! We got to learn all about dinosaurs, and of course, there was plenty of fun and excitement along the way! 🦴🌿

We have had SO much fun with our monthly visits to the ISU Extension Office this summer. It has been such a wonderful opportunity for our littles to learn, explore, and experience something new each month. ❤️

A huge THANK YOU to the Butler County Extension Office for continuing to provide such a fun and engaging program for our little learners to enjoy! We are so grateful for the time, creativity, and effort that goes into making each visit so special. 🥰

💰 It is always our goal as a nonprofit for tuition to cover our payroll. But payroll is not our only expense when it comes to our daily, monthly, and yearly operations.

🏫 Every month, we have thousands of dollars in operating costs beyond payroll.

💵 $3,595+ in monthly overhead expenses.

🧻 From supplies and food to utilities, maintenance, curriculum, and so much more, there are many expenses that happen behind the scenes to keep our center running.

We’re kicking off something a little different this week!

When you think about Allison Little Lambs, you probably think about our teachers, our classrooms, lots of little voices, messy art projects, learning, playing, and all the little moments that make our days so special. ❤️

But there is SO much more that happens behind the scenes to keep our doors open and provide the quality, trusted child care our families count on.

So this week, we’re giving you a little behind-the-scenes look at what it really takes to keep Little Lambs running. 🐑

Over the next week, we’ll be sharing some of our everyday operating expenses, the things you may not always see, and how community support helps us continue our mission.

This isn't about asking for something every day. It's about opening the doors and showing you what it takes to operate a nonprofit child care center and why every bit of support truly matters.

We are incredibly blessed by the families, staff, church, and community who believe in what we are doing.
