We are grateful and proud to share that the Pennsylvania Department of Education awarded a $20,000 grant to Hampton Township School District to support students who are interested in becoming special education teachers.

Here at Hampton, we believe inclusive education changes lives — and this grant creates meaningful opportunities for students to experience the impact and importance of special education firsthand. Through initiatives such as the creation of a communication lending library, students will gain exposure to assistive technology and alternative communication systems that help ensure every learner has a voice. Students will also have opportunities to volunteer within our Extended School Year (ESY) programming, participate in independent studies that include supporting students in special education classrooms, and engage in inclusive activities through Best Buddies, Unified Sports/Bocce, and our Sign Language Club, which helps foster communication, connection, and awareness across our school community.

In addition, this grant will support the continuation of our partnership with La Roche University, providing students with expanded access to mentorship and exposure to pathways into potential special education careers. Together, these opportunities help cultivate empathy, leadership, and a deeper understanding of inclusive practices while inspiring the next generation of educators and advocates committed to building schools where every student belongs and thrives.

Every quarter at HMS, a “second chance” drawing takes place for students to have the chance to enjoy a special lunch! The PBIS program rewards students who demonstrate respect, responsibility, and motivation to learn. Congratulations to the last quarter of this school year's winners who enjoyed lunch from Caliente Pizza & Drafthouse!
