We prayed for protection, for provision, and for preparation. Now, join us in praising God for His faithfulness! 🙌

The new school year began on September 7th, and we’re grateful to celebrate a successful start across our EduNations schools in Sierra Leone.

Join us in thanking God for:
• Students safely back in the classroom and ready to learn
• Teachers and staff prepared and equipped for the year ahead
• God’s faithful provision throughout the start of the new academic year

Thank you to everyone who joined us in prayer over these past few weeks. As another year of learning begins, we give God the glory for His faithfulness and continue trusting Him for all that lies ahead. ❤️

“Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!” - Psalm 107:1

How is the Feeding Program impacting the health of our boarding students?

During Term 2, our school clinic recorded 1,003 illness visits among boarding students. But by Term 3, that number had fallen to 453, making it a 55% decrease (please see the slide for context).

Our school nurse has also observed increased energy, health growth and body weight, and lower disease rates among students during their time at the boarding school.

Consistent, nutritious meals each day are one part of a larger environment of care that also includes healthcare, clean water, housing, hygiene, and dedicated staff, which all work together to support the whole student.

Across EduNations schools in Sierra Leone, students are building reading skills every day with the support of dedicated teachers and staff.

Through student sponsorship, you can help make this learning possible!

We're so grateful for the hard work of our teachers and staff who prepared for this day, and for the many families who entrust their children to us.

Meet Adamsay Mohamed Kanu, a 17-year-old student at EduNations Hope Academy Senior Secondary School in Rokassa. ❤️

Adamsay has been part of the EduNations family since Nursery. Over the years, school has become much more than a place to learn—it has become a place where she has found faith, family, and a sense of security.

Before joining the boarding program, Adamsay walked long distances to school, and her family sometimes struggled to provide the learning materials she needed. Today, living on campus means she has a safe place to stay, a supportive community around her, and three meals each day through EduNations’ feeding program.

But the change Adamsay treasures most is spiritual.

“The most important has been finding the opportunity to know who Jesus is and having the freedom to openly consider myself a Christian.”

She also describes her dormmates and house parent as a family. They are people who encourage her, care for her, and help create a safe and peaceful environment where she can focus on her future.

And that future has a dream attached to it. Adamsay loves Financial Accounting and hopes to become an accountant one day.

Adamsay is currently available for sponsorship.

Through sponsorship, you can come alongside Adamsay as she continues growing in her education, her faith, and her pursuit of the future she dreams about.

Meet Osman Bah, an 18-year-old Science student at EduNations Hope Academy Senior Secondary School in Rokassa. ❤️

Osman comes from a farming family in the village of Taneneh. Before joining EduNations, financial challenges made school fees and even basic educational materials difficult for his family to afford.

But one of the things that helped Osman keep moving forward was surprisingly simple: a bicycle.

While attending Junior Secondary School in Gbenekoro, Osman had a significant distance to travel each day. EduNations provided him with a bicycle, making his journey to and from school easier and safer, helping him continue his education.

Since then, Osman has grown academically and spiritually. He says EduNations has become more than a school to him; it has become a family where students care for and encourage one another. His faith has grown through the school’s Christian environment as well.

Today, Chemistry is his favorite subject, and Osman dreams of becoming a medical doctor so he can care for others and improve the health of his community.

And currently, Osman is available for sponsorship.

“If I am privileged to become part of the sponsorship program, I will be deeply grateful. Thank you for everything you are doing to support students like me. Your kindness is giving us hope and a brighter future.”

The new school year is almost here, and our teachers and staff are busy getting ready!

This week, we’re praying for everyone involved at our schools as they prepare to welcome students back.

Please join us in praying for:
• Wisdom for teachers and staff as they prepare for the year ahead
• A smooth transition for new students as they join the EduNations family
• Effective planning across our schools as the new academic year begins

There is so much that happens behind the scenes before students return! Please pray that God would give our team wisdom, strength, and guidance as they prepare for another year of educating and caring for our students.

Meet Emmanuella T. Conteh, a 16-year-old student at EduNations Hope Academy Senior Secondary School in Rokassa. ❤️

Before joining EduNations, school wasn’t always an encouraging place for Emmanuella. Being teased because of her height affected her confidence, and financial expectations at her previous school created additional challenges.

But when Emmanuella joined EduNations, she found a fresh start and a community where she felt supported, valued, and encouraged to grow.

One of the most meaningful changes has been in her faith. “One of the greatest ways EduNations has impacted my life is by strengthening my faith in Christ,” she shares. “I have learned to accept and overcome challenges that I once struggled with.”

Along the way, friends have encouraged her to discover her talent for singing and become more confident speaking in front of others.

Now a Science student who especially loves Biology, Emmanuella dreams of becoming a nurse so she can care for others, save lives, and make a positive difference in her community.

Emmanuella is currently available for sponsorship. Through sponsorship, you can come alongside her education as she continues growing in knowledge, confidence, faith, and pursuing her dream of serving others through healthcare.

Meet Ishmiel Sankoh, an 18-year-old student at EduNations Hope Academy Senior Secondary School in Rokassa.

For much of Ishmiel’s childhood, continuing his education wasn’t guaranteed. As the third of 13 children in a farming family, he watched his parents work tirelessly and make sacrifices to provide for their children. Still, the question of whether his family could afford school fees weighed heavily on him.

When Ishmiel joined EduNations in Junior Secondary School, that burden was lifted. Today, he can focus his energy on learning and on the future he hopes to build.

His favorite subject is Government, where learning about leadership, justice, and citizens’ rights has inspired Ishmiel's dream to become a lawyer.

One day, he hopes to advocate for people regardless of their financial circumstances and be a voice for those who may not otherwise have access to legal representation.

At school, Ishmiel also receives three nutritious meals each day, helping him stay healthy, energized, and focused in the classroom.

Ishmiel is currently available for sponsorship. Through sponsorship, you can invest in his education and walk alongside him as he continues pursuing a future dedicated to serving others.

What’s on the menu at the EduNations boarding school? 🍽️

Our students are served a variety of Sierra Leonean meals throughout the week, providing the nourishment they need to learn and grow. Here’s what a typical week of meals looks like:

• Sunday: Black-eyed beans + rice
• Monday: Cassava leaf + rice
• Tuesday: Soup + rice
• Wednesday: Yellow beans + rice
• Thursday: Konchion beans + rice
• Friday: Fried rice
• Saturday: One-pot konchion beans

At EduNations, educating the whole child means caring for both mind and body. For students living at our Senior Secondary Boarding School, a warm meal is an important part of making school a place where they can focus on their education.

Which meal would you try? Let us know in the comments! 👇
