Heyyyyy, old friends and new 👋💗 Ren here, kicking up my feet and cheesin like a totally normal person!

Here’s your proper reintroduction of myself, the artist Ren & Ink | Lauren Beck behind Bloomery Art Co. — because not only has our Allentown, PA art studio expanded and developed, but so have I as a creative!

When I look back on my life, I’ve always had a creative tick. My mind races with visual images, my brain won’t stop ideating, my dreams become bigger as I reach my goals. It’s infuriating sometimes. It’s not something you can suppress, and honestly trying to keep myself small made it worse as I rotted away at boring jobs 🫠

This is what I want you to know — I wasn’t always an artist who happens to magically own her own business (definitely wasn’t magic) and happens to also make a living from her art (also years of not-magical work getting here).

You’re seeing me HERE, as the owner of Bloomery with some things I’ve done that, yeah, I’m proud of — but I’m really ALL ABOUT simply embracing that inner creative spirit because THAT’S THE MAGIC!

But it takes trusting YOURSELF. Enough to maybe make it into our doors, sit down, and let go. We’ve got you from there, with art supplies a-plenty, encouragement and support, even a cuppa tea to calm you.

I’m here to tell you — it is worth it!!! 👏👏👏

Don’t do it alone, try out a community night or class to get you going. There are others who are just like you, also embracing their own creativity and maybe having fears about it, and I know you’ll find comfort and friends in them.

Students have reported feeling total fear before entering our space, gathering up courage to even step foot inside. We get it. The pressure of a formal art class can be HEAVY.

What if I am actually terrible?
What if the vibe is off?
What if I can’t get comfortable?
What if the entire experience is just meh?

Understood, and all these feelings are valid 🫶
