Shabbat Shalom from JDS.
In this week’s parsha, Vayakhel, we see the power of community - how each person’s contribution helps build something sacred together. It’s a beautiful reminder that what we create as a community truly matters. Thank you for being a part of our JDS family.
Wishing our JDS families a peaceful, joyful Shabbat.

U is for Unicorns, Umbrellas, and Unlocking Unbelievable creativity. 🦄☔
This is what early childhood looks like at JDS - joyful, intentional, and built for lifelong learning. (And maybe a little sparkle!)

Behind every parent-teacher conference is a teacher who has spent hours preparing, reflecting, and showing up for each child.
Today was our small way of saying: we see you.
Thank you for the care, commitment, and heart you bring into this community on conference days and always.

Mythology, engineering, design thinking, and artistic expression (oh my!).
Our 2nd graders explored the story of Icarus, and then built their own wings, testing ideas, materials, and creativity along the way. This is what happens when learning is integrated, hands-on, and built to inspire!

An act of tzedakah (charity) never dies - it grows, spreads, and strengthens a community.
At JDS, we see it every day in small moments, helping hands, and the way our students show up for one another. These acts don’t just stay in the moment, they ripple outward and shape who our children become.
Kindness is where everything begins.

This year, JDS students are participating in The Butterfly Project, a powerful initiative honoring the 1.5 million children who perished in the Holocaust.
Each student will create a unique ceramic butterfly as an act of remembrance and moment of reflection. Through this experience, our students are connecting to history, reflecting on it, and carrying these important stories forward.
At JDS, this is what meaningful education looks like: building knowledge, empathy, and responsibility in the same moment.
We remember. We honor. We carry forward. 🦋

The JDS PTO Coin Contest is officially underway! 🪙
From now through March 27, students can bring in coins to help their class raise the most money for our JDS Garden Sensory Space. Every penny, nickel, dime, and quarter counts - and yes, dollars count, too!
The class that collects the most will win an ice cream party.
Check those couch cushions, car cupholders, and piggy banks - and let’s see which class comes out on top! Every cent helps us grow something special for our students.
