The kiddos harvested carrots yesterday, scrubbed them today, and will make soup tomorrow! 🥕Thank you Mrs. K. for transporting and transplanting your carrot crop so that the children could experience pulling them from their (makeshift) garden beds!

came to our school today and shared her lovely beeswax crayons, her pencils made from branches, her selfmade natural dyes, her tales and talents, and bunches of yellow daffodils from her garden!
Miss Rebecca encouraged the children to look at, touch, and smell the daffodils. We heard one child announce, “it smells like spring!”🌿
Using sing the beeswax crayons, she demonstrated how to draw a daffodil, and then invited everyone to join in.
After drawing, they drizzled, splashed, and brushed the dyes, watching them bubble and even swim over the beeswax!
One-by-one the pieces were finished and set aside to dry.
Before taking them home, we admired and arranged them for a photo. We think they’re beautiful and that all together, they give a perfect picture of our morning with Miss Rebecca.🌱
💛 and is grateful for our parents’ group who took care of every detail for this wonderful experience.

The other day Mrs. K brought a bunch of p***y willow branches into school. The toddlers loved touching their soft, gray catkins while talking about the arrival of spring. Today, the 1st day of spring, they each took a small stem home with the lyrics of a sweet little song they’ve been singing! (See photo above)

Happy Holi to all those who celebrate this festival of colors!
Holi is a Hindu celebration of the arrival of spring and the triumph of good over evil. It’s a day to leave all resentments and negativity behind.
Probably the most exciting part of this festival of color is when the celebrants toss handfuls of colorful powders in the air and at each other!

Happy Purim to everyone who celebrates!
Purim is a special Jewish holiday that is celebrated around the world. Celebrants remember Queen Esther’s kindness & her courageous victory over the evil Haman, a man who was very unkind to the Jewish people.
With special treats, like the hamantaschen cookies pictured above, colorful costumes, and noisy groggers, the people celebrate how kindness helps make the world a happier place to live!
