This weekend marked the 35th anniversary of the dedication of Muhlenbergâs Trexler Library. The Robert Geddes-designed building cost $12M and replaced the sorely overwhelmed Haas Library (now Haas College Center). Part of the dedication festivities included a ceremonial book-passing, in which a human chain stretched across campus between Haas and Trexler handing books to each other.

Today we learned of the death of Robert Geddes (1923-2023), architect of our own Harry C. Trexler Library, among many notable others, including two buildings at Princetonâs Institute for Advanced Study. Trexler, completed in 1988, more than doubled the space of our previous Haas Library.
