Dr. Amy Droskinis, Assistant Professor of Nursing, presented a peer-reviewed poster of her research on "Academic Nurse Faculty Belongingness and Anticipated Turnover" at the University of Maryland: Institute for Educators on April 24, 2026 in Baltimore, Md. There were over 200 nursing educators present at this conference from across the country. This research was conducted as part of her PhD dissertation.📊

🎓 Congratulations to Jessica Tummarello, RN, an August 2026 graduate! In May Jessica proudly celebrated her achievement wearing her nurses' cap and was recognized as the recipient of the Cecilia C. Ryan Award, honoring excellence among RN-to-BSN students.

We are proud of Jessica's dedication, leadership, and commitment to advancing her nursing education. Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition and best wishes as you continue to make a difference in the nursing profession! 🖤💛

Our NP faculty and students had a successful Lobby Day in Harrisburg, advocating for legislation that supports full practice authority for Nurse Practitioners across Pennsylvania. They delivered educational materials to more than 20 senators and representatives and participated in meaningful discussions about the future of healthcare access and the Nurse Practitioner profession. 😁

Special thanks to Dr. Alicia Shelkin and Dr. Melissa Tracy for meeting with Rep. Clint Owlett, and to Dr. Jacklyn DelPrete, students: Miranda Raub, and Julianne Fritz for meeting with Sen. Nick Miller's legislative assistant to discuss the proposed legislation and advocate on behalf of patients and nurse practitioners. The day concluded with a press conference in the Capitol Rotunda featuring legislators and representatives from the Pennsylvania Coalition of Nurse Practitioners. ⚖️

"I am happy to be a part of the Cedar Crest College team as the scheduling coordinator for the undergraduate nursing degree program. My educational experience includes a background in biotechnology and microbiology from Penn State University as well as an MBA from Moravian College. I have spent approximately 20 years in the pharmaceutical industry, holding various positions primarily in quality. I was recently with ThermoFisher Scientific as a quality specialist for 5 years and as a project manager for 3 years. When the opportunity arose, I decided to make a career change to enter academia. Previously, I engaged in activities at Cedar Crest College, including coursework, and enjoyed the atmosphere. My previous roles equip me with the ability to apply the principles of quality along with the skills of organization as a project manager. I look forward to supporting this team as we journey into a new semester of another educational experience."
