Today was "Bring Your Child to Work Day," and it was so wonderful to see our hard-working parents and grandparents spend some time during the day with our future Highlanders!
In honor of Administrative and Support Staff Day, the Northern Highlands Education Association hosted a beautiful, catered lunch today. We thank our administrative and support team members for their hard work and commitment all year long!
Today is our final day of NJSLA online testing. We appreciate all our staff has done to ensure a smooth process. Special kudos to our Tech Team members who rapidly addressed any technology issues!

The Northern Highlands Board of Education and the Northern Highlands Education Association are pleased to announce that a new four-year collective bargaining agreement has been reached. This agreement will run from July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2026 and will allow for our communities to continue to receive the outstanding educational opportunities that are provided by the Northern Highlands program and staff. The Northern Highlands Educational Association and Northern Highlands Board of Education both appreciate the continued support of our communities and we look forward to another four years of working together to serve our students and communities.
April is National Volunteer Month. In addition to doing good for the sake of doing good, students also can receive academic credit on their transcripts for 28 hours of service each school year. Over the past year, Senior Jessie Moss, has diligently reported to her afternoon internship at Allendale Automotive Repair to explore a future career in automotive technology. The staff at Allendale Auto has been incredibly impressed by Jessie's willingness to learn, positive attitude, and strong work ethic. This experience has reinforced Jessie's interest in automotive technology, and she plans to attend Universal Technical Institute to possibly be Ford Certified or trained in diesel repair. We are so proud of you, Jessie!
The Wellness Department and USRA Coalition is hosting a special event tomorrow: "Saving a Life: The Art of Having Difficult Conversations with Your Teen" presented by Kara Kushnir, LCSW, from A Work of Heart Counseling. This evening, we honor our National Honor Society members who have worked so hard to earn outstanding academic achievements! It is wonderful that we will be able to hold this ceremony in person this year. Congratulations to all!
