Dizzy Legend Dies

Dizzies,

I’m sending this out to Par’s entire Dizzy mailing list.

Today is a sad day for us Dizzies. I was notified by Terra Zoerner that our Good Friend David Parsons passed away while on the golf course this morning. Assuming it was a massive heart attack.

Our prayers are with Nancy and their children during this very difficult time. I’ll see if I can gather more information.

FYI
Dave C brought me the Keller Cup last Friday. He and Sharon stopped by on the way to Ludington. Eric and family will join them soon for the 4th of July for a week or more.
Also, Biddle called me today. He’s glad to be home. Said he was scared he wouldn’t make it, as we all were. 5 more weeks of daily antibiotic injections through a pic port and lots of rest and treatment ahead. So glad he called.
Also glad to see you’re out riding the wind and waves. Glad we have such great friends and that you’re in that bunch. The Keller Cup you designed and had made is great, but even greater is the thoughtfulness you put into it!
It’s a great example of the strong bond we have for one another. Love yah, Buddy!!

Throwback to the very beginning of Laker Football! ⚓️🏈

Looking at this helmet today, it’s hard to imagine that back in 1970, we were just a "newbie" squad of walk-ons playing in hand-me-down sweatshirts. We were so desperate for real jerseys that we agreed to a "pick-up" game against the inmates at Ionia State Prison. It turned out to be a game unlike any other—played on gravel with a manhole cover on the field and opponents who didn't care about a 15-yard penalty!
