GVSU Regional Math and Science Center In our technology-rich society, success depends on our ability to apply the principles of mathematics, science, and technology to real-world situations.

GVSU’s Center for Community and Experiential Engagement supports K–12 STEM outreach through Region 12 Michigan Science Olympiad, connecting young learners with hands-on STEM experiences while providing internships and career development for GVSU students. The nurturing of children's instincts through stimulation and innovative experiences is the key to motivating our youth and teachers to pursue the study of mathematics and science in greater depth. The Regional Math and Science Center (RMSC) exists to address these issues relating to science and mathematics literacy in our community.

Come visit the Lakeshore Museum next Saturday (October 10th) from 11am-3pm for Chemistry Under Construction! Local businesses and college chemistry clubs will be doing hands-on activities. Visitors can tour the museum, visit activity tables relating to construction materials, and also watch a chemistry demo show! Let’s join the Chemistry Society to celebrate National Chemistry Week!

We had a great time at Tech Week 2026!

Last week, our center’s Director and Assistant Director, Debbie Herrington and Dana Hebreard, participated in a panel alongside Andy Johnston from the Grand Rapids Chamber, moderated by Clarecast’s Bradley Taylor, to discuss what’s changed with the Laker Accelerated Talent Link program once we started operating on real information rather than finding out after the fact.
