Greetings! Wanted to give everyone an update on Aurora Images Art & Photography Studio.
On June 1st, I started offering virtual classes in order for my students to continue studying fine art skills. It was tough at first, but the classes are going great!!
The number of students accepted in the virtual program is limited to 5 students per class as compared to the 10 students per class that we had in the studio - so space is limited! I am only offering five classes per week as compared to the 8 classes per week I offered in the studio. Please note: The virtual classes are not recommended for students under 9 years of age.
I am pleased to say my students who are age 9 thru adult are finding it beneficial and rewarding to work from the comfort of their own home. They especially appreciate the increased one on one attention they now receive thru the virtual classes. I am also providing personalized instructional videos when needed to enhance the virtual experience.
My High School Grads are now headed off to college. I will miss them tremendously and their departure leaves a few openings.
If you are interested in trying the virtual classroom experience, contact me soon for more information. There are 4 classes per month, each class is 2 hours long. I have openings on the following days:
Mondays 5-7pm one opening
Tuesdays 5-7pm one opening
Thursdays 5-7pm two openings
Friday 5:30-7:30pm one opening
Note: If you were enrolled at the studio as of March 2020, returning students are eligible for a $10 discount off the first months tuition upon their return. I’m also Now offering sibling discounts with the virtual classes. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Welcome August! Here’s an update on Aurora Images Art & Photography Studio. Due to Covid 19 it became necessary to close our Studio doors. I locked the doors for the last time July 31st. But! That’s not the end! Just the end of a chapter.

Hello all! I hope everyone is doing well; happy and healthy. Hasn’t this been a strange new year full of unexpected twists and turns?!
I thought closing the studio on March 14th due to COVID 19 was going to be a temporary move. I had hopes I would be able to reopen In April, but our Governor mandated we stay closed. I then thought I would be able to reopen in May. When that didn’t happen, it was looking like I would definitely be able to reopen the doors on June 1st, but the majority of our families were not ready to return to in-person classes. Can’t open the doors if you don’t have enough butts in seats to cover overhead. So, at that point I had to make some tough decisions.
A handful of my students elected to take a chance on virtual classes through Zoom beginning June 1st. It was a little different and took a little adjusting to, but after a month of classes, I am glad to report things are going smoothly, projects are getting completed, new projects are getting started and everyone is happy to be back creating art! In many ways the ”zoom” classes are actually better because students are receiving more one on one instruction.
The bittersweet news is due to the financial impact on the day to day operations of the studio, it has become necessary to close the doors on our location at 600 E. Main Street. Our official closing date will be July 31, 2020.
For 13 years in a storefront studio (2007 - 2020) my studio has been filled with so many bright, talented and promising students preceded by 13 years of private individual instruction in my home. I have been so blessed throughout the years.
Today, modern technology is allowing me to continue my work, sharing my knowledge to teach Fine Arts to amazing students. The possibilities are endless! Virtual classes will be our new normal for an undetermined length of time because the future standing before us is so unclear. Therefore, we will simply do our best with the tools we have at hand.
It has truly been my pleasure to watch my students blossom and grow as artists. We will continue to maintain an online presence with our websites, pages and instagram. We are currently in the process of updating our websites giving them a new and refreshed appearance
If anyone is interested in joining our online classes, please let me know. To maintain the quality level of instruction we currently have I can only accommodate a few more students. We would love to have you join us!
Blessing to all! I truly believe we are going to get thru these challenging times coming out better than ever on the other side!

So many of our student families still have great concerns about their children returning to in classroom studies. So we are in the process of developing virtual classrooms in an effort to help ease some of those concerns; at least until we can get back to some level of normalcy. As soon as the program is developed, our existing students will be notified and will have the first opportunity to register for these classes.
Some students have asked for focused instruction classes like Graphite 101, or Drawing skills 101 and Watercolor Painting Skills 101. Other students are simply dying to complete the projects they were working on when the Pandemic hit. Let me assure you; A virtual classroom will be no different that our regular classroom setting. I will help each individual student with some one on one time until their project is completed. Please continue to watch your inboxes with times and date availability for these amazing classes that will continue to protect you and your family during these unprecedented times. What better way to relieve stress than by using your creativity to find your zen.
