Allen Conservatory fo Dance will be closed the week of March 7-11th for our scheduled Spring Break closure. We will see you all back March 14th.
Our dancers in the Introduction to Dance class are working on stretching and building muscle alongside their basic techniques. We can't wait to see how far they go!

Join us as Irina Vakhromeeva teaches a master class to Intermediate and Advanced dancers Thursday February 24th from 7:30-9 pm. Cost is $35 to all dancers not registered in Ballet 6 at the Allen Conservatory of Dance.

Ms. Vakhromeeva’s ballet career began in the world famous Vaganova Ballet Academy, where she received her MFA Master Degree of Ballet Artist. Currently she is a PhD candidate at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy. She toured throughout the world as a soloist and Principal dancer with the Moscow Ballet Company, Festival Ballet, International Ballet Company, Metropolitan Ballet.
Ms. Vakhromeeva danced principal roles in many ballets, including The Nutcracker, Giselle, Sleeping Beauty, La Fille Mal Gardee, Don Quixote, Paquita, Italian Caprichio, Flame of Paris, The Swan Lake, Corsaire, Cinderella, The Snow Maiden, The Blue Bird, and many others.
As a Principal Guest Artist, Teacher and Choreographer, Ms.Vakhromeeva worked with Hamilton Ballet in Canada, International Ballet in Taiwan, Krassovska Ballet Jeuness, and Galveston Ballet where she staged La Bayadere, La Fille Mal Gardee, Napoli, Les Sylphides, Carmen, The Nutcracker, her own choreography, The Blue Bird, Solitude, Spring Verse, Glinka Waltze, and others.
Her knowledge of the most current teaching methods and styles has produced many young dancers who have been accepted into some of the world’s greatest schools, including Bolshoi Ballet Academy and Vaganova Ballet Academy, Julliard School and University of North Carolina School of the Arts, and to professional ballet companies.

We are excited to announce our spring recital will be the story ballet Cinderella performed on May 28th. Our ballet classes will perform as Faries from each of the four seasons or as Princesses and Court Ladies. We encourage you to invite your friends and family to save the date. Tickets will be $2 each available in May for purchase. Watch for costume images to post over the next few weeks to our social media accounts.

Emma Pennell begin taking ballet lessons at the age of 3 at the Allen Conservatory of Dance. She progressed her technique and artistry through various roles performed with the Allen Civic Ballet, Including Clara, Dew Drop Fairy, Snow Queen, and Sugar Plum Fairy in the Nutcracker. Emma attended summer intensives as a scholarship recipient at Ballet West and Kansas City Ballet. She had the opportunity to compete in the Dallas YAGP Semi-Final in 2016, 2017, and 2018, placing in the top 24 senior women’s classical category two times.
Emma was also awarded a scholarship in memory of Madame Krassovska from the Dance Council of North Texas. After graduating high school, Emma was auditioned and selected to be a trainee with the Kansas City Ballet’s Second Company for two seasons. There she had the opportunity to perform with the company and take a variety of classes that helped her further expand her technique and passion for dance. Since being back home, Emma has enjoyed teaching the students at the Allen Conservatory of Dance while rehabbing a knee injury.
Angie Cancel was born in Carolina, Puerto Rico and was brought into dance after discovering the magic of the Nutcracker at 5 years old.
Ms. Angie went on to train in the Vaganova method of ballet and pedagogy while also competing in contemporary, lyrical and jazz divisions throughout her years with the Dance Company. Ms. Angie attended dance conventions that included training from Travis Wall, Sonia Tayeh, and Melanie Moore to further her interests in contemporary. She went on to dance with the Centennial Sparklers and became captain while touring to perform in the 2017 Rosebowl in Pasadena, California, as well as becoming one of the top 5 national contemporary soloists for Crowd Pleasers in 2017.
She furthered her dance education with the University of North Texas with a major in Dance. Ms. Angie has served as dance judge for several high school and performing arts school such as Texas School of the Arts. Ms. Angie is on her second year of teaching dance and plans to continue for many years to come.
