Cold, Flu, RSV, and Covid viruses are upon us. This winter is suppose to be bad. When children are close together, there is always a risk of illnesses spreading. The risk is especially higher for infants and toddlers, since they like to put everything in their mouths. To prevent the spread of illnesses in our school, we recommend that your child stays home from school if they experience flu or cold symptoms. Please see below:
Consider keeping your child at home an extra day for rest and observation and take them to the doctor if they have the following symptoms:
•Stuffy or runny nose
•Stomach ache or diarrhea
•Croupy cough or wet cough
•Feeling fatigue or discomfort
Please keep your child at home if they have any of the following symptoms:
•Fever (greater than 100 degrees) (Have to be
fever free for 24 hours without medication
before returning to school)
•Diarrhea (Not normal)
Please make sure to help your child with good hygiene habits by doing the following:
•Washing hands more often
•Do not touch eyes, nose or mouth
•Covering mouth and nose when sneezing or
coughing (use a paper tissue, throw it away and
then wash hands)
•Try to avoid close contact with people who are
We understand this can be an inconvenience, but it is very important to try and keep all the children and staff in the school safe. We have taken extra measures over the last few weeks with extra sanitizing and hand washing. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.

As always, thank you for the support you always give when asked! I appreciate you all.

I am excited to announce we are doing our 1st Annual Toys for Tots Drive from Monday, 12/4 - Friday, 12/8 from 9am-4pm. This program is run by the United States Marine Corp Reserve to distribute toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts for Christmas. Although Christmas is about more than just gifts, children look forward to waking up on Christmas to presents. We are asking that each family at Brookhaven help make Christmas special for those families that are having financial hardships. If each child can bring 1 unwrapped toy to school during this timeframe, it would be greatly appreciated. We will have Toys for Tots boxes setup in the school lobby.
As always, we appreciate all the support you give to our school!
Here are some fun pictures of our after schoolers from the last couple weeks!
Reminder that tomorrow is our classroom color challenge. Please see the list on what color to send your child in! Let’s see how many colors we have tomorrow!!
