Dear Cornerstone Kids families,
On Monday, March 23, 2020, we will reopen our preschool. We will be open to all children 6 wks to 12 years of age to assist working parents. We take the current environment concerns with coronavirus (COVID-19), very serious and will be implementing the following precautionary actions:
• During week of 3/16-19/20, our Preschool facility will be thoroughly sanitized. This includes all toys, surfaces, walls, flooring, doors and our indoor/and outdoor playground equipment.
• All teachers and support staff working at Cornerstone Kids as well as all children enrolled at Cornerstone Kids will:
o Sign a written affidavit declaring that:
no one in the child’s household, has been out of the country in the past 14 days
been around anyone that has been out of the country in the past 14 days.
Been around anyone with a body temperature above 99.9, symptoms of COVID-19 or who is or has been in self quarantine due to symptoms or testing positive for COVID-19.
Has not had a body temperature over 99.9 three days prior to 3/23/20.
o Have their temperature taken prior to entering the facility. NO ONE with a temperature over 99.9 will be allowed to enter the facility or attend school.
o Anyone with respiratory symptoms, chest congestion, coughing etc will not be allowed to attend.
o Temperatures of ALL teachers, support staff and children will be taken at lunch each day.
o We will implement curb drop off and pick up.
o Parents needing to pick up early or drop off late, please call 580.775.7645 and someone will meet you to get your child or bring your child to you.
o A worker will wash your child’s hands prior to taking them to their classroom.
o Further, we are implementing more frequent hand washing, and hard surface disinfecting throughout the day.
o Disinfected toys will be rotated into each classroom throughout the day to ensure the most sterile environment for our precious children.
o Children will be assigned their own bagged crayons, scissors, etc.
o There will be less children per table during snack and lunch time to increase the distance between each child.
o Please send food that does not require the caregiver to warm up and that is readily able to be opened without much “handling” of your child’s food by their caregiver.
o Aprons will be assigned for each caregiver to wear as they hold and rock individual infants to limit transferring germs.
o Classrooms will be no larger than 9 students and children will be spread out over more tables in the classroom.
The above procedures go beyond the current recommendations from the Texas Health and Human Services guidelines for childcare centers. Please click the link below for current THHS guidelines for childcare centers.
You will receive credit for the week of 3/16-19/20 which can be applied to later tuition. If you do not need or want your child at school, we understand and there will be no penalties assessed. We will not drop your child from our enrollment. We have many children whose parents must work, and we want to be there for those families. If you do not want or need to send your child(ren) you will not be charged for April. As more information becomes available, we will make a decision about May. We hope this will lessen your financial stressors and help you to relax and focus on your family’s current needs.
We are opening our enrollment now to school aged children who need care. We are setting up to assist children with online schooling needs. We are offering two, three, or four days a week care. IF there is a need and interest, we may increase to five days a week. All incoming children must meet enrollment requirements, re: immunizations, fit for care affidavit etc. School aged children will NOT be mixed with our preschool children. They will not have the same outdoor time and will be eating separately as well.
Our heart is to minister to our working families who need childcare now. Please call with any additional questions or concerns. Thank you for understanding and allowing us to care for your children. We love each one of them very much and respect that you as their parent know what is in their best interest.
This will be our protocol until further requirements come down from the Texas Department of Health and Human Services.

March 13, 2020
Dear Cornerstone Kids families,
Due to the ongoing concerns with coronavirus (COVID-19), Cornerstone Kids will close March 16-19, 2020. This decision has been made due to Lovejoy, Wylie, Princeton, and Allen ISDs extending Spring Break through March 16-20, 2020. Due to the recent announcement by the World Health Organization declaring the coronavirus outbreak a pandemic, our closure is an attempt lessen the health and safety risks of our students and their families. During the closure, our school will undergo a complete deep cleaning and disinfection.
Because these circumstances are beyond our control, we are not currently reimbursing tuition. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.
