Congratulations to our Coach Ella!!!!!!
ASA is pleased to announce our Coach of the Month for August. The tireless and legendary Ella Bassett!! Coach/Commissioner/League Director/Track Guru Bassett has been coaching with us since 2002. That's 16 years and still going strong! She's made it a family affair and brought her daughters into the act as well. Ella is there, 110 degree heat and all, organizing and running our Track program. Please join us in congratulating Ella and recognizing all her hard work! Thank you Ella! (and we agree about the contagious laugh!)
"Coach Ella deserves this. She works with every child and let’s then try everything and focuses in on what they can shine best at. She encourages the kids with a positivity that not only makes them feel confident, but makes them want more for themselves. When they fail, she shows them they didn’t. She is 100% dedicated to every child on the team and wants the best for all of them. She is also very good at parent communication and doesn’t let the parents take control, but makes sure they are involved in a healthy way. That alone is amazing!" - Heather Hutchison
"Ella should be Coach of the Year! She has spent many hot summers and cold winters outside working with all levels of athletes. From April to July, she is at the track 4 days a week for practices and Saturdays for meets. She is patient and believes in each athlete no matter their skill level. Coach Ella always has a positive attitude and somehow makes each practice fun. She has trained many of the top athletes in the area. Allen and Lovejoy High Schools reap the benefits of her training programs. PS Her laugh can be heard across the track!" - Anita Ahmadi
"Amber and her mom Coach Ella are wonderful and full of support for the children . The work they do is appreciated" - Maureen
"My son recommended I nominate Coach Ella just because she works so hard to get all the kids better each year." - Carolyn Oladunjoye
and simply.. "Her patience and dedication to the kids." - Elvin Lal
We agree!
