Allen ISD has made the difficult decision to cancel the upcoming home varsity football game against Tyler Legacy on Oct. 16. Following the cancellation of last night’s football game, additional lab-confirmed positive tests of COVID-19 were reported last night and this morning. After consulting with the AISD athletic department and our health coordinator, Allen ISD believes this decision is in the best interest of both Allen’s and Tyler Legacy’s players and staff.
This Friday’s game was scheduled to be Allen High School’s Homecoming game. All homecoming festivities, including the crowning of the king and queen and the planned drive-in movie, will be postponed to a later date. Allen High School will communicate the new event schedule when details are finalized.
While the cancellation of both games is unfortunate, AISD wants to emphasize that this is no fault of our students or coaches. AISD students and staff across the district have done an excellent job of following health and safety guidelines. As a reminder to all in our community, please continue to wear a mask, practice social distancing, and stay home if you are feeling ill.
Allen ISD would like to thank the entire community for its support and understanding during these difficult times. We look forward to having our football team, Escadrille, cheerleaders and many other student groups participate in the next home football game on Oct. 30 against McKinney Boyd.
Dear Allen Eagle Fans,
It is our regret to inform you that tonight’s (Oct. 9, 2020) football game against Cedar Hill has been canceled. Two student-athletes from our team have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past two days. This decision was made by AISD’s district and athletic administrators out of an abundance of caution and in the best interest of both teams’ athletes.
Any student who has a lab-confirmed positive test of COVID-19 will be required to remain off campus and follow CDC guidelines before returning to school. District officials have begun contact tracing to determine if any students were in close contact with individuals who have tested positive.
District officials will continue to monitor the football team, as well as all other teams, groups, and our student population. Allen ISD will continue to take proactive health procedures to allow our students to continue participating in school events. At this point, the remainder of Allen’s football games will be played as scheduled.
Thank you for your patience and understanding,
The Allen ISD Administration

Here is some important information for the upcoming season.
Football season is nearly here, although a little later than usual. The UIL has pushed back the start of the 2020 football season for all 5A and 6A football teams until late September. The Allen Eagles full schedule has been pushed back to accommodate this change. The first game of the season is September 25 against Plano East at Eagle Stadium.
The UIL has also mandated that the capacity at high school stadiums must be limited to 50% this season. As a result of the reduction in seating capacity, Allen ISD will not issue season tickets for the 2020 football season. Season tickets that have already been purchased for the 2020 season will be credited to the 2021 football season. If you wish to receive a refund instead of a credit, please contact Jeff Chaney at [email protected].
All 2020 tickets at Eagle Stadium will be sold online only through Ticketracker.com (links will be placed on the AISD Athletics webpage closer to the beginning of the season). Parents with a student participating in the event will be given a priority time slot to purchase tickets before tickets become available to the general public.
