Saturday morning at STEM Fest Lovejoy students and families interacted with live animals, explored code robots, learned about storm science, hydroponic gardens, drones, 3-D printing, veterinary science, and more! The hand-on and interactive exhibits brought science, technology, engineering, and math to life for our Lovejoy learners!!
We were extremely thankful that Lucas Fire Department was already onsite with their drone display when the fire alarm was accidentally triggered by the Mad Scientist exhibit. Fire Chief Stephens and Superintendent Kordel gave Mr. Glaze (aka the Mad Scientist) a Junior Firefighter badge to make him feel better. We think it worked!
Our deepest gratitude to all of the Lovejoy students, staff, and community organizations that contributed to the success of this hands-on learning event!
We would love to see YOUR Lovejoy STEM Fest pictures - please share them in the comments below!!

In honor of School Board Recognition Month, we asked each of our Trustees a unique question. Today we are honored to recognize Trustee, Jason Jaynes.
Question: "What inspired you to volunteer on the Legislative Subcommittee?"
Answer: "It is a great honor and privilege to serve as the Lovejoy ISD Board of Trustees' Legislative Committee Chair. I was first elected to the board in 2021 and volunteered soon after to work on the legislative committee because I believe passionately in the power of a great public education. I also wanted to learn more about what we can do to continue to strengthen these institutions both here in Lovejoy and throughout the state of Texas. We are in a very special place here in Lovejoy, and I look forward to working with our administration, community, and state leaders to continue to build on our Legacy of Excellence."
Thank you, Mr. Jaynes, for your commitment and service to Lovejoy ISD!
